Murray State: Live Stats | Free Video StreamThe University of Dayton women's soccer team (0-1-1) will host UC Santa Barbara (2-0-0) in its home opener this Friday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Flyers will also host Murray State (0-1-0) Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. Admission is free for all UD regular season home matches at Baujan Field. Friday's match is a RED OUT and all fans are encouraged to wear red. There will also be body paint available. With the Mead Cup being played locally, it is also Kids Weekend and the first 100 kids who wear their team jersey to the match will get a free popcorn. The first 150 fans will receive a 2014 UD women's soccer schedule poster. Finally, don't forget to pick up your punch card for the 2014 Dayton Flyer soccer scarf. Get seven punches on your card to receive the scarf.
THE SERIES•This is the first meeting between UC Santa Barbara and Dayton.
•This marks the first matchup for the Flyers vs. Murray State as well.
FLYER FACTS•
Mike Tucker is entering his 20th season as head coach of the Flyers in 2014. He has an overall record of 282-97-28. UD is 16-3-0 in home openers with Tucker at the helm.
• Dayton tied Xavier 1-1 in its lone exhibition match this year. Freshman
Kaitlynn Kiehl scored UD's goal in the second period.
• Dayton returns its top goal scorer junior forward
Ashley Campbell (18 goals, 5 assists), who also led the A-10 and was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Year. UD also returns junior midfielder
Nicole Waters (4 goals, 17 assists) who led the nation in assists per match in 2013.
• The Flyer captains this season are senior

• Campbell played in four matches, with one start, for the Canadian National Team in the U-20 FIFA World Cup this summer hosted by Canada. She returned to Flyer training camp Tuesday, Aug. 19.
• Last year, UD was 13th in the nation in scoring offense (2.38), tied for 13th in assists (2.24 apg) and 15th in points (7.00). Dayton led the A-10 in points and scoring offense.
• UD finished the 2013 season 14-5-2.
• UD has won the Atlantic 10 Regular season title 11 times (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The Flyers have won the A-10 Tournament Championship eight times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011). The Flyers also have made eight NCAA appearances since 1996.
UP NEXTThe Flyers play in the Ohio State Tournament on Sept. 5 vs. the host Buckeyes at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Ohio at 7 p.m. ET. UD will then play Indiana at the same venue on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. Both Big Ten squads earned a berth to the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Indiana is coached by former UD assistant Amy Berbary (at UD from 2004-2008). Her assistant at IU, Sergio Gonzalez, was also a Flyer assistant coach (2006-2010).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
UC SANTA BARBARAThe Gauchos enter the contest 2-0-0 with two shutouts. UCSB scored three second-half goals to defeat Cleveland State 3-0 in its home opener on Aug. 22, and downed Southern Utah 2-0 on Aug. 24. Freshman Amanda Ball leads UCSB with two goals, while Indiana Mead, Savannah Francis and Brittney McKinney have each scored a goal this season. Junior goalkeeper Beth Ritter was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week for the Gauchos for her two shutout performances.
MURRAY STATEThe Racers are 0-1-0, falling 3-2 to Arkansas State in their home opener. Murray State hosts Georgia State this Friday before traveling to Dayton. Senior Julie Mooney scored both goals for Murray State in the loss.
WATERS NAMED 1ST A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEKNicole Waters earned the first Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honor (Aug. 25). A junior midfielder from Terra Cotta, Ontario, Waters had a part in all three of Dayton's goals against No. 9 Texas A&M. Waters scored the first goal of the match, then assisted on
Ashley Campbell's score. Waters added another goal less than a minute later for a career-high five points in the game, as the Flyers fell short, 4-3 to the Aggies. Against Rice, Water's team leading third goal of the season put the Flyers ahead, 2-1, but the Owls tied the game in the 57th minute, forcing a 2-2 double-overtime tie.
BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN The Flyers are 200-57-19 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. UD owns a .759 winning percentage in those matches. In the last five years Dayton is 45-7-4 at home; an astounding .837 winning percentage at Baujan. BennettRank College Soccer revealed Dayton's Baujan Field was ranked 29th in all of NCAA Division I women's soccer for home field advantage.
