Match CoverageDAYTON, Ohio - After completing its tournament schedule with a 10-4 mark, the Dayton volleyball team heads into Atlantic 10 Conference play riding a three-match winning streak. Of the Flyers' 10 wins this season, five have been by straight-set sweep. UD will start A-10 play on the road, first at Duquesne Friday evening at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dayton will be in Philadelphia for a 5:30 p.m. tilt at La Salle and UD will wrap up the weekend at Penn on Sunday for some out-of-conference action at 1 p.m.
About the OpponentsDuquesne (6-6) is coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Toledo Rocket Invitational with losses to Minnesota and IPFW and a 3-1 win over the host Rockets. Arielle Love leads the Dukes with 3.00 kills/set (9th A-10) and a .364 hitting percentage (2nd A-10). La Salle enters the weekend with a 6-10 mark and will open Atlantic 10 Conference play on Friday at home against Saint Louis and are looking to snap a four-match losing skid. The Explorers are led by Kelly Perillo with 3.39 kills/set (6th A-10) and the team's primary setter is Michelle Healy with 9.64 assists/set (5th A-10). Pennsylvania is currently 3-7 but will square off against Princeton on Friday before Sunday's match with Dayton. The Quakers went 1-2 at the Big 5 Tournament last weekend, defeating La Salle, 3-1, and the team is led by Alexis Genske with 3.00 kills/set.
Series Stuff• Duquesne and Dayton have previously met 40 times with the Flyers holding the commanding 36-4 advantage in the series. The Dukes have won the last two meetings, though, both of which happened last season - including a 3-1 decision in the semifinals of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship.
• The Flyers have an unblemished 33-0 record against the Explorers of La Salle. The series dates back to 1992 and UD has won the last 11 matches between the two squads in straight sets.
• Sunday's non-conference match-up with Pennsylvania will be only the second meeting between the Flyers and Quakers. Dayton picked up a 3-1 win over Penn on Sept. 8, 2001 at home.

Tim Horsmon is in his sixth season overall, but first since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2014. His record at Dayton is 138-47 and his overall win-loss mark sits at 314-211 in 16 seasons as a head coach.

Janna Krafka is third in the A-10 and 93rd nationally with 4.45 digs/set.
• With 681 team kills, Dayton ranks 37th nationally out of 350 teams ranked by the NCAA. The team also ranks 39th with 121 total blocks.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 10 times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title eight times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and have made nine NCAA appearances in program history.
13th to 1,000With two wins at the season-opening Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton has surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,008-564 over 44 seasons (1970).

Janna Krafka has also passed 1,000 ... career digs. With her 33 digs at the BGSU Hampton Inn Invitational, she reached the 1,000-dig mark for her career. With 1,194 career digs, Krafka now ranks fifth all-time in the UD career record book. She is 235 digs behind Cathy Wojciechowski (1990-93) who ranks fourth with 1,429 career digs.

Isolde Hannan is moving up the Dayton career assisted blocks list as the top blocker for the Flyers this season. Hannan currently ranks sixth all-time with 387 block assists, just 28 behind fifth-placed
Megan Campbell (415). So far this season, she has recorded a team-best 43 BAs and is averaging 1.06 total blocks/set. Heading into this season, Hannan has recorded three consecutive seasons with 100+ assisted blocks and is well on her way to a fourth.

Jendryk honored on UNF/JU Radisson Invitational All-Tourney TeamJunior
Jenna Jendryk picked up the tournament season's final all-tournament team nod for her play at the North Florida/Jacksonville Radisson Invitational Sept. 19-20. For the four-match tournament, Jendryk averaged 2.85 kills/set and a .302 hitting percentage for the Flyers en route to a 3-1 finish. She also recorded nine blocks, six assists and three digs for the weekend.
UD Picked Third in A-10 Preseason PollDayton has been chosen to finish in third place in the Atlantic 10 for 2014. The Flyers, winners of four of the last five A-10 titles, tallied 78 points in voting among the league's head coaches as announced by the conference office Aug. 20. Defending champion Duquesne was selected to win the title, receiving eight first-place votes.
Up NextDayton will return home for the first weekend in October with Friday-Sunday matches against new Atlantic 10 opponent Davidson and VCU. On Friday, Oct. 3 the Flyers will host the Wildcats for a 7 p.m. tilt at Frericks Center in UD's A-10 home opener. That following Sunday, the VCU Rams will be at Frericks Center for a 1 p.m. match-up against the Flyers. Both matches will be video streamed for free via the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.
