Box Score 3 DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton's men's and women's tennis programs were busy this weekend participating in three days of competition.

On Friday, Jan. 23, the Flyer men defeated Eastern Kentucky University with a score of 4-3.

Carsten Fisher,
Zach Berry, and
Simon Jayaram all brought in singles victories for the team, and the duo of Berry and Fisher took a 6-1 doubles victory for UD.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Dayton's women's team took on a tough match against Northern Iowa.
Marlys Bridgham and Mandy Merchant defeated Lopez/Stroobant of NIU 7-6 in doubles, and Bridgham also brought in one win for the team in singles. Although they fought hard, the Flyer women lost to NIU with a score of 1-6.

On Sunday, Jan. 25, the UD men were at it again vs. Lipscomb. Fisher and Berry's doubles match went unfinished with a score of 4-4. Jayaram, Fisher, and Berry all defeated their opponents in singles. The Flyer men lost 3-4 in a narrow defeat by Lipscomb.

Both teams gained a lot of great experience against tough competition and are ready to work hard in practices throughout the duration of this week.

Up next for Flyer tennis, the women will travel to Eastern Illinois for a 3pm match on Saturday, Jan. 31, and the men take on Wright State at home on Sunday, Feb. 1 beginning at 2pm.Â
