MALOTT POURS IN 30 IN #UDWBB'S 87-72 WIN OVER SAINT LOUIS

Senior Forward was 13-of-16 from the Floor, One Rebounds Shy of Double-Double

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team won its seventh-straight game with an 87-72 victory over the visiting Saint Louis Billikens Saturday afternoon at UD Arena. Senior Ally Malott finished with a career-high 30 points on the day on the strength of 13-for-16 shooting.

The Flyers improve to 16-4 on the season, and 7-1 in the Atlantic 10. Saint Louis falls to 11-11 on the year, and 4-5 in league action.

Four other Flyers got into the double-digits scoring with junior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova tying a season high with 13 points. Senior Andrea Hoover and junior Amber Deane added 14 and 13 points, respectively, while junior Kelley Austria finished with 11.

Dayton started the game by taking a 17-7 lead, but Saint Louis kept it within single digits for most of the first half. Dayton held a 49-45 advantage at the half. The 49 points were the most in the first half for the Flyers this season. Both teams were red hot from the field in the first half, with each shooting over 50 percent and Saint Louis was also 56 percent from long range.

SLU continued to keep it close in the second half until Malott went on a personal 7-0 run to set her new career high in points and Dayton took its largest lead of the game at 12 with just under six minutes left. UD would eventually lead by as many as 16 and close out the game with the 15-point victory.

UD finished the game by shooting 51 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers out-rebounded the Billikens, 39-32, and finished with a 44-19 advantage in points in the paint.

Saint Louis was led by sophomore Erin Nelson who finished with 18 points on the day, while redshirt junior Jamesia Price finished with a game-high 10 assists.

Dayton will head back on the road to face the George Mason Patriots this Thursday, Feb 5. The game is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. in Fairfax, Va.
