WOMEN'S HOOPS WINS EIGHTH-STRAIGHT, 84-73, AT GEORGE MASON

Malott Leads Five Flyers in Double-Figures Scoring, Grant-Allen Posts Career High 16

FAIRFAX, Va. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team extended its winning streak to eight games with a 84-73 win at George Mason. Five Flyers scored in double figures including senior Ally Malott with a team-high 18 points to go with seven rebounds. With the win, Dayton improves to 17-4 overall and 8-1 in Atlantic 10 play while George Mason falls to 11-11 on the season and 3-6 in league action.

Also for the Flyers, sophomore Saicha Grant-Allen scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting and senior Andrea Hoover added 17 points to go with four assists. Junior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova chipped in 11 points and recorded five blocks and freshman Jenna Burdette dished out seven assists for UD.

Dayton scored the first five points of the game and extended its lead to eight, 14-6, following a three-point basket from Hoover. The Flyers led by as many as 13, 42-29, in the first frame after another Hoover three-pointer. At the half, UD was up eight, 44-36, after 14 points from Hoover and nine from Malott.

UD was able to extend its lead to 23, 62-39, in the second half after a Grant-Allen layup. GMU chipped away at the advantage but would get no closer than 11 down the stretch. Dayton was able to hold on for the 84-73 win.

The Patriots were led by Taylor Brown with a game-high 28 points to go with eight rebounds while Kristi Mokube added 17 points for GMU.

The Flyers return to action on Sunday with a stop in the nation's capital to take on No. 24/23 George Washington. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. at GW's Smith Center and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
