DAYTON, Ohio - Currently enjoying an 11-match winning streak, Dayton volleyball has posted a straight-set sweep in four of its last five and six of its last eight matches. On Friday, Dayton will square off against Davidson for a 7 p.m. match at Frericks Center.

The Flyers (13-5, 6-0) are seeking their third perfect Atlantic 10 season in the last six years and the program's 12th A-10 regular season title. Offensively, the team is led by senior Alaina Turner with 4.48 kills/set (1st A-10, 13th NCAA) and 0.45 aces/set (4th A-10, 31st NCAA) while sophomore Jane Emmenecker sets 11.22 assists/set (1st A-10, 24th NCAA). On the defensive side, sophomore Amber Erhahon records 1.23 blocks/set (2nd A-10) and senior Janna Krafka passes 3.91 digs/set (4th A-10).

About Davidson
Davidson (8-11, 2-3 A-10) picked up a 3-1 win at home Tuesday night over North Carolina A&T after dropping a 3-1 decision to A-10 foe VCU on Saturday. DAV's two conference wins have come against Fordham to open league action and George Mason on Oct. 2. The Wildcats are led by Sabrina Shepherd with a .351 hitting percentage (4th A-10) and 1.12 blocks/set (4th A-10) while Morgan Shannon gets under 3.96 digs/set (3rd A-10).

Series Stuff
One of the Flyers' newest Atlantic 10 foes, Dayton and Davidson have only previously met twice. Dayton won both meetings last season in straight-set fashion in a home-and-away series between the Wildcats and the Flyers.

RPI Rankings
Dayton heads into Friday's match holding a Rating Percentage Index (RPI) ranking of 44 according to ncaa.com. Davidson's RPI is 259.

• Tim Horsmon is in his seventh season overall, and second since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2015. His record at Dayton is 171-54 and his career win-loss mark sits at 347-218 in 17 seasons as a head coach.
• With 14.20 kills/set as a team, Dayton leads the Atlantic 10. The Flyers also lead the A-10 in hitting percentage (.273, 14th NCAA) and assists/set (13.15, 27th NCAA) and rank second in digs/set (14.49) and service aces/set (1.57).
• Individually, senior Alaina Turner ranks first in the A-10 with 4.48 kills/set (13th NCAA) while sophomore Jane Emmenecker is first in the league with 11.22 assists/set (24th NCAA). Also among the top 10 in the league are: sophomore Amber Erhahon, 1.23 blocks/set (2nd); senior Janna Krafka, 3.91 digs/set (4th); Turner, 0.45 aces/set (4th); Erhahon, .333 hitting percentage (6th); senior Jenna Jendryk, .331 hitting percentage (7th); Krafka, 0.34 aces/set (7th).
• Over the last seven seasons (2009-2015), the Flyers have recorded an 84-9 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
• For the 2015 season, Dayton returns the 2014 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in senior Alaina Turner, the A-10 Setter of the Year in sophomore Jane Emmenecker and the A-10 Libero of the Year in senior Janna Krafka.
• The Flyers finished the 2014 season with a 30-6 overall record and with a 13-1 Atlantic 10, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2014 was the program's third 30-win season of the modern-DI era.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 11 times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record nine times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 10th NCAA appearance in program history in 2014.

Moving up the Ranks
With 1,300 career kills, senior Alaina Turner is moving up the ranks in UD's record book. She's just 201 kills away from usurping former Flyer All-American Rachel Krabacher who currently holds the number-five slot with 1,500 kills. Currently in second place on the all-time career digs list (1,806), senior Janna Krafka is only 265 digs away from become Dayton's new career digs record holder, replacing Adrienne Green (2,070).

You "Kill" Me (through matches on Oct. 14)
With 11.30 attacks/set, senior Alaina Turner ranks 31st in the NCAA while scoring 5.24 points/set which comes in at 10th in the nation. The A-10's leading attacker, Turner ranks 13th with 4.48 kills/set, 32nd in the NCAA with 291 total kills and 55th with 754 total attacks. For her career, Turner ranks 20th among active NCAA DI players with 1,300 career kills. Oh, and did we mention she serves up 0.45 aces/set which is good for 31st nationally?

13th to 1,000
With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,041-562 (.649) over 46 seasons (1970).

Second Weekly A-10 Honor for Turner
When you average 5.50 kills/set over two straight/set wins, the conference office recognizes you as Player of the Week! Senior Alaina Turner picked up her second weekly award from the A-10 on Monday, Oct. 12 after leading Dayton to back-to-back three-set wins over George Mason and George Washington. In the win against the Colonials, Turner recorded 20 kills to go with nine digs - narrowly missing her ninth double-double of the season.

UD Picked First in 2015 A-10 Preseason Poll
Dayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2015. The Flyers, winners of five of the last six A-10 titles, tallied 88 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including eight of 10 first-place votes). George Washington was selected to finish second.

Up Next
The Flyers will be home for back-to-back weekends that will sandwich an out-of-conference match at Xavier. Sunday, Dayton will welcome VCU for a 1 p.m. tilt at Frericks Center followed by a trip to Cincinnati to meet Xavier at Cintas Center at 6 p.m. Next weekend, Dayton's only opponent will be its travel partner Saint Louis. The two will square off on Saturday,, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. in Frericks.
