About XavierXavier (10-9, 6-3 Big East) split its weekend matches at Cintas Center with a 3-1 win over Georgetown and a 3-1 loss to Creighton. At 6-3 in Big East play, the Musketeers are tied for third place in league standings. XU is led offensively by Abbey Bessler with 3.85 kills/set and McKena Estes with 5.40 assists/set. On the defensive side, Meredith Klare gets under 4.17 digs/set and Lauren Frilling is the team's leading blocker with 0.76/set.
Series StuffOne of the Flyers' most-played opponents, Dayton and Xavier have previously met 78 times dating back to Oct. 1971. The Flyers' hold a commanding 53-25 advantage in the all-time series and UD has won the last five meetings. The two last squared off on Sept. 16, 2014 as the Flyers claimed a 3-2 win over the Musketeers at Frericks Center.

Alaina Turner ranks 14th in the NCAA while scoring 5.26 points/set which comes in at ninth in the nation. The A-10's leading attacker, Turner ranks 40th nationally with 11.35 attacks/set, 64th with 817 total attacks and 31st with 322 total kills. For her career, Turner ranks 19th among active NCAA DI players with 1,331 career kills. Oh, and did we mention she serves up 0.44 aces/set which is good for 24th nationally?
13th to 1,000With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,043-562 (.649) over 46 seasons (1970).

Alaina Turner picked up her second weekly award from the A-10 on Monday, Oct. 12 after leading Dayton to back-to-back three-set wins over George Mason and George Washington. In the win against the Colonials, Turner recorded 20 kills to go with nine digs - narrowly missing her ninth double-double of the season.
UD Picked First in 2015 A-10 Preseason PollDayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2015. The Flyers, winners of five of the last six A-10 titles, tallied 88 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including eight of 10 first-place votes). George Washington was selected to finish second.
Third A-10 Award for ErhahonSophomore middle blocker
Amber Erhahon earned her third Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, Oct. 5 as announced by the conference office. She averaged 1.62 blocks/set over two wins for the Flyers Oct. 2 and 4, including a career-high nine blocks against Rhode Island on Sunday.
