SET-BY-SET
Set One: The Flyers scored the first two points of the opening set and used that early advantage to build a 7-1 lead right out of the gate. The Colonels were able to pull closer and came within four of the Flyers at 13-9 with a 5-1 run of their own. Dayton answered with a 4-0 run to extend its lead, but EKU countered once again and managed to tie the game up at 19-19. The Flyers trailed for the first time in the match, 21-20, before the Colonels pulled ahead 24-21. Dayton rallied together though and scored five unanswered to take set one, 26-24. Seniors Angel Agu and Jill Loiars partnered up for a key block to put the Flyers back on top with Agu and sophomore Jessica Sloan getting the set-winning block to seal the comeback bid.

Set Two: Dayton and EKU battled back and forth in the early stages of set two with both teams jockeying for position. After trailing 3-1, the Flyers responded to score five in a row and a nine of the next 10 to take a 10-4 lead. The Colonels settled in after the initial Dayton assault and closed the gap to four at 14-10. The Flyers kept the EKU rally to a minimum however and extended its advantage back to seven at 20-13. Dayton continued to pressure the visitors and used an 8-2 run to take set two, 25-15. Amber Erhahon recorded an important pair of kills to end the set, her seventh and eighth of the match.

Set Three: The Flyers carried their momentum over from a controlling second set and jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Colonels with a combination of service aces, blocks, and the partnership of Jessica Sloan and Erhahon. EKU responded with a four-point stretch of its own, but Dayton quickly put a stop to that run with back-to-back kills by Sloan and Erhahon. Three straight kills by Jenna Jendryk pushed the Flyers' lead to 13-6 as the Frericks crowd came alive with Dayton leading the way. The Colonels were unable to mount enough of a rally to catch the Flyers with UD taking the set and match, 25-13.
