FLYERS IN FAIRFAX FRIDAY, D.C. SATURDAY FOR A-10 ACTION

Dayton to Square Off Against George Mason Friday, George Washington Saturday

DAYTON, Ohio - After starting the season 0-4, Dayton volleyball is now currently enjoying a nine-match winning streak and has an unblemished 4-0 match in Atlantic 10 play. Over the weekend, Dayton won two at home against Fordham (3-0) and Rhode Island (3-2) to move to 7-1 in Frericks Center on the season. The Flyers are led offensively by senior Alaina Turner with 4.37 kills/set (1st A-10) and sophomore Jane Emmenecker with 11.18 assists/set (1st A-10). Defensively, sophomore Amber Erhahon tallies 1.24 blocks/set (3rd A-10) and senior Janna Krafka is the team's leading passer with 3.93 digs/set (3rd A-10).

About George Mason
George Mason (6-11, 1-2 A-10) enters the third weekend of Atlantic 10 action with a 1-2 record in league play after picking up a 3-1 win at VCU on Sunday. The Patriots are led offensively by Morghan Martin 2.90 kills/set (7th A-10) and Montana Green sets 8.13 assists/set (9th A-10). At the net, Lola Owokoniran gets 1.25 blocks/set (2nd A-10) for Mason.

Series Stuff
There have only been four meetings in the series between Dayton and George Mason with the Flyers claiming all four matches. The two last squared off on Oct. 10, 2014 as UD swept GM in Fairfax, Va.

Flyer Facts
• Tim Horsmon is in his seventh season overall, and second since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2015. His record at Dayton is 169-54 and his career win-loss mark sits at 345-218 in 17 seasons as a head coach.
• With 14.19 kills/set as a team, Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 21st among 329 DI squads. The Flyers also lead the A-10 in hitting percentage (.272, 15th NCAA) and assists/set (13.08, 33rd NCAA) and rank second in digs/set (14.49) and service aces/set (1.56, 50th NCAA).
• Individually, senior Alaina Turner ranks first in the A-10 with 4.37 kills/set (18th NCAA) while sophomore Jane Emmenecker is first in the league with 11.23 assists/set (25th NCAA). Also among the top 10 in the league are: sophomore Amber Erhahon, 1.24 blocks/set (3rd); senior Janna Krafka, 3.93 digs/set (3rd); Turner, 0.39 aces/set (4th); senior Jenna Jendryk, .329 hitting percentage (8th); Erhahon, .328 hitting percentage (9th).
• Over the last seven seasons (2009-2015), the Flyers have recorded an 82-9 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
• For the 2015 season, Dayton returns the 2014 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in senior Alaina Turner, the A-10 Setter of the Year in sophomore Jane Emmenecker and the A-10 Libero of the Year in senior Janna Krafka.
• The Flyers finished the 2014 season with a 30-6 overall record and with a 13-1 Atlantic 10, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2014 was the program's third 30-win season of the modern-DI era.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 11 times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record nine times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 10th NCAA appearance in program history in 2014.

Moving up the Ranks
With 1,267 career kills, senior Alaina Turner is moving up the ranks in UD's record book. She's just 234 kills away from usurping former Flyer All-American Rachel Krabacher who currently holds the number-five slot with 1,500 kills. Currently in second place on the all-time career digs list (1,784), senior Janna Krafka is only 287 digs away from become Dayton's new career digs record holder, replacing Adrienne Green (2,070).

You "Kill" Me
With 11.56 attacks/set, senior Alaina Turner ranks 30th in the NCAA while scoring 5.08 points/set which comes in at 14th in the nation. The A-10's leading attacker, Turner ranks 18th with 4.37 kills/set, 34th in the NCAA with 258 total kills and 57th with 682 total attacks.

13th to 1,000
With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,039-562 (.649) over 46 seasons (1970).

Third A-10 Award for Erhahon
Sophomore middle blocker Amber Erhahon earned her third Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, Oct. 5 as announced by the conference office. She averaged 1.62 blocks/set over two wins for the Flyers Oct. 2 and 4, including a career-high nine blocks against Rhode Island on Sunday.

UD Picked First in 2015 A-10 Preseason Poll
Dayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2015. The Flyers, winners of five of the last six A-10 titles, tallied 88 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including eight of 10 first-place votes). George Washington was selected to finish second.
