DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton's women's basketball team and head coach Jim Jabir has announced three recruits who have signed their National Letters of Intent to join the Flyers for the 2016-17 season.

Each of the trio comes in as nationally ranked high school seniors: Jenna Giacone (Delmar N.Y./Bethlehem Central), Jayla Scaife (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) and Jordan Wilmoth (Chestnut Ridge, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Academy).
 
Giacone is a 6-1 point guard who is the 42nd overall ranked senior in the country and 10th ranked point guard. "Jenna is a very strong player who can play the point at 6-1," Jabir commented. "She comes from a great family whose sister and brother are both college student-athletes as well. I think she will flourish in our system and we are excited to have her come into our family and help us contribute to build our basketball program."
 
Ranked 11th across the nation for shooting guards, Scaife has plenty to bring to the Flyer program. "Jayla is a great kid from a great family," Jabir mentions. "On the court she is tough, strong and skilled. Her game will only improve at the college level as we help Jay develop her long range shot and ball handling. We are very fortunate to have her here with us."
 
Scaife is ranked 64th overall and was First Team Underclass All-State in 2014. Following the 2012-13 season, she was named Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Honorable-Mention Underclass All-State as well.
 
Wilmoth is the 20th-ranked forward in the country and received MSG Honorable-Mention All-New Jersey for her junior season. "Jordan is a versatile, skilled player who fits exactly into our style of play," Jabir had to say about the 6-3 forward. "She reminds me of Ally Malott with a comparable skill set. She is a great student from a great family and we are happy to have her join our family as part of a highly respected recruiting class."
 
Dayton is coming off of a run to the Elite Eight® in the 2014-15 season, the deepest run in program history. Losing three seniors at the end of the season: Tiffany Johnson, Ally Malott (drafted eighth overall by the Washington Mystics) and Andrea Hoover (third-round pick, 31st overall by the Los Angeles Sparks), the Flyers are looking to continue to build its program to one of the nation's best.
