WOMEN'S SOCCER SET TO DEFEND A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Flyers Take on Duquesne In A-10 Quarterfinals Thursday at 5 p.m.

 The University of Dayton women's soccer team (10-9-0, 8-2-0 A-10) is the No. 2 seed in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship and will take on the No. 7 seed Duquesne Dukes (10-9-0, 5-5-0 A-10) Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals on the campus of Davidson College at Alumni Soccer Stadium.

• The winner advances to the semifinals to face the winner of the #3 Saint Joseph's vs. #6 La Salle match. That semifinal match will be Friday, Nov.  6 at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Soccer Stadium.

FLYER FACTS
• The Flyers have won their last five A-10 matches: a 3-1 home win vs. Fordham (Oct. 18), a 2-0 road win at Rhode Island (Oct. 22), a 6-1 home win vs. St. Bonaventure (Oct. 25), a 5-2 home win over Duquesne (Oct. 29) and a 3-1 road win over UMass (Nov. 1)
• The win over Fordham marked the 300th career victory for Flyer Head Coach Mike Tucker
• In the win over Rhode Island, Ashley Campbell scored both goals and became UD's all-time leading goal scorer. She now has 61 career goals, overtaking the record previously held by three-time All-American Colleen Williams (2009-2012).
• In the win over St. Bonaventure, Nicole Waters had three assists, and in the process became UD's all-time leader in career assists. She currently has 53, which leads the NCAA for active career leaders. 
• In A-10 action, the Flyers have outscored opponents 31-13. 

THE SERIES
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 16-1-0 over the Dukes. 
• UD's only loss to Duquesne was a 3-2 setback on Oct. 1, 1999.
• Dayton's home record vs. SBU is 8-1-0.
• The last meeting between these two teams was oct. 29, 2015 and the Flyers came away with a 5-2 victory at Baujan Field. Senior Ashley Campbell led the Flyers with two goals and an assist. Meghan Blank, Alexis Kiehl and Nicole Waters each scored as well. Freshman Beth Kamphaus had two assists.

THE A-10 FIELD
• Dayton is 3-2-0 this season against the teams that made the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship. 
• The Flyers have wins vs. George Mason (4-2), Duquesne (5-2) and Fordham (3-1).
• The losses came against VCU (3-2) and La Salle (2-1).
• UD did not face #1 seed George Washington or #3 seed Saint Joseph's during the 2015 regular season.

DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND 
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: nine times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014). 
• UD has also won or shared 11 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The next closest is Massachusetts with five. 

WATERS AT THE TOP OF HER CLASS
Nicole Waters was named a Top 10 Finalist for the Senior CLASS Award
• The finalists were chosen by a media committee. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through November 23 at:  www.seniorclassaward.com/vote/
• Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner.

SECOND WEEK IN A ROW A FLYER NAMED A-10 CO-POTW
• Senior Nicole Waters was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 2.
• She scored a goal and had the assist on the game-winning goal in Dayton's 5-2 home win over Duquesne Oct. 29. 
• Waters had a part in all three goals in UD's 3-1 win over Massachusetts Nov. 1, which clinched the No. 2 seed in the A-10 Championship for the Flyers. Waters scored two goals and had an assist on the final goal. 

ALEXIS KIEHL NAMED A-10 CO-POTW
• Sophomore Alexis Kiehl was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Oct. 26. She registered her first collegiate hat trick and added an assist in Dayton's 6-1 victory over St. Bonaventure. 
• The sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio scored 42 seconds into the match, and twice in the second half, her seven points a career-best for her in a single match and in the league this season. 
• Kiehl also had an assist in Dayton's 2-0 win over Rhode Island, for eight points on the weekend. 

TERRIFIC TUCKER
• Tucker is his 21st season at UD and has amassed an overall record of 304-114-29 overall and 163-31-10 vs. A-10 opponents. 
• Tucker is one of just 17 active coaches to have won 300 matches in NCAA Division I Women's Soccer.

CAMPBELL'S CAREER
• Campbell is one of eight Flyers to score at least 20 goals and dish 20 assists in her career. She has 24 career assists. 
• Her game-winning goal vs. UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 20) was the 50th of Campbell's career. She became just the third Flyer to score 50 goals. 
• With her four points in UD's 5-2 win over Rice on Sept. 11, Campbell moved up to second all-time at Dayton for career points. She currently has 148.
• Campbell scored 18 goals during the 2013 season, which is tied for fourth best at UD for a single season.

WATERS CAN ASSIST YOU
• Senior Nicole Waters leads the NCAA for active players in career assists (54). She is also first in the NCAA with her .89 assists per game this year.
• Waters holds the UD single-season assists record with 18, which she set in 2014.
• Her 54 career assists rank first on UD's all-time Top 10 list.
• Waters is one of eight Flyers to score at least 20 goals and dish 20 assists in her career. She has scored 23 goals. 
• Waters was fourth, nationally, in assists (18) in 2014 and led the nation with 17 assists in 2013. 

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
• True freshman Kaelyn Johns has started every match in goal for the Flyers. She has amassed 74 saves in 19 matches. 
• True freshman Nadia Pestell has started 18 matches for the Flyers on defense. She has logged 1,374 minutes.

•  The winner faces Saint Joseph's or La Salle in the A-10 semifinal Friday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
