Box Score 1 DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton's tennis teams both fell to their opponents during a tough weekend of competition.
 
The men's and women's tennis teams were scheduled to play against Tennessee State on Friday, Feb. 27, but those matches were cancelled due to weather.
 
On Saturday, the Flyer men traveled to the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Ind. to take on Purdue. Bernardo Sanson and Josh Malyon brought in a doubles victory in the No. 2 spot with a 6-3 win. However, the Boilermakers earned the doubles point after earning victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Andy Druffel earned the only singles win for the Flyer men in the No. 6 spot. UD lost the match to Purdue, 1-6.

Also on Saturday, UD's women's tennis team traveled to the Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton, Ohio to compete against Miami University. Jackie Kawamoto and Alex Townsend earned a win during doubles play for the Flyers, but this would be the only victory the Flyer women saw during the match against Miami. UD fell to Miami, 0-7.

Next weekend, the Flyer tennis programs will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for their first conference matches against Saint Joseph's. The matches will take place at the Riverside Fitness Center on Friday, March 6. Saint Joseph's men's team is currently 4-2 overall, and 0-1 in the Atlantic 10 conference after a loss to Richmond.
