DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will depart the Cronin Athletic Center this afternoon on its way to the program's first appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16®. The seventh-seeded Flyers are set to square off against the third-seeded Cardinals of Louisville on Saturday, March 28. UD and UofL will be playing in the second game of the session and tip time is set for approximately 2:30 p.m. at Times Union Center. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN.

About the FlyersDayton (27-6) outlasted 11th-ranked Kentucky, 99-94, in a NCAA Tournament Second Round shoot-out on March 22 advancing the Flyers to the program's first Regional Semifinal appearance. UD has won 10 of its last 11 games after closing out the regular season with a six-game winning streak and picking up two wins in both the Atlantic 10 Championship and the NCAA Tournament. Andrea Hoover with 17.3 ppg. and 3.1 apg. while senior 
Ally Malott is the team's leading rebounder with 7.9 rpg.
Scouting LouisvilleNo. 8/8 Louisville (27-6) is making its third-consecutive and sixth overall appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16® in 2015 after defeating South Florida, 60-52, on March 23. The most recent loss for the Cardinals came on March 7 in the ACC Tournament semifinals as Florida State came away with the 66-51 win. UofL has three players that average double-figures scoring, led by Mariya Moore with 13.5 ppg. Shawntá Dyer grabs 5.6 rpg. and Jude Schimmel dishes out 3.6 apg. for the Cards.
Last Time OutTwo Flyers poured in more than 20 points, including 28 points and a game-high 13 rebounds from senior 
Ally Malott, as Dayton outlasted Kentucky in NCAA Tournament Second Round action. Junior 
Amber Deane added 23 points and dished out four assists as the Flyers secured their first trip to the round of 16. Also in double-figures scoring was junior

The SeriesThere have been 13 meetings between Dayton and Louisville with the Cards holding an 8-5 advantage in the series. The two last squared off in Louisville on Dec. 11, 2010 with UofL securing a 69-55 at home. Louisville has won four straight in the series and the Flyers and Cards have never met on a neutral court.
70'S the Magic NumberSince the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 110-10 (.917) when scoring 70 or more points, including 23-1 this season. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

Sixth-Consecutive NCAA Tournament for DaytonThe Flyers are making their sixth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2015 and hold an all-time record of 4-5 in NCAA Tournament play. UD gained entry into the field of 64 with its fifth at-large bid to the championship (automatic qualifier in 2012 with the team's only Atlantic 10 Championship title) and are advancing to the program's first Regional Semifinal. Last year, Dayton earned the program's best seed of No. 6 and squared off against Florida, falling to the Gators, 83-69, in the First Round.
Hoover Named Regional Finalist for WBCA All-America TeamSenior 
Andrea Hoover has been selected as a regional finalist for the 2015 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Team. The selection committee will select the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team from the 52 regional candidates and the team will be announced April 4 during the NCAA Women's Final Four® Super Saturday festivities.
1,000 and CountingWith her first made basket in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship final, junior 
Amber Deane became the 23rd member of Dayton's 1,000-point club as only the 10th Flyer to reach that milestone in her third season. She has 1,038 career points, ranking 21st all-time, heading into the regional semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament. Senior 
Ally Malott became the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club at UD with her 24 points against Iowa on Nov. 22. She currently has 1,481 career points for eighth all-time in Dayton scoring history. Senior 
Andrea Hoover reached the 1,000-point milestone on Feb. 5, 2014. She was the 21st Flyer to join the club and ninth to do so as a junior. Hoover currently has 1,809 career points and ranks fifth all-time at Dayton.
1,000-500-300Only two players in the history of Dayton women's basketball have reached the 1,000-points, 500-rebounds and 300-assists mark. The first to do it was Beverly Crusoe (and in only three seasons! - 1977-80) with 1,627 points, 946 rebounds and 358 assists for her career. The second? Current senior 
Andrea Hoover - 1,809 points, 701 rebounds and 338 assists.
We'll Take the Free OnesAs a team, the Flyers shot 76.4 percent from the free throw line in 2013-14, the BEST team free throw percentage in Dayton history. The 76.4 percent ranked second in the Atlantic 10 and 14th nationally. Then-junior 
Andrea Hoover led the Flyers from the line with a 93.6 free throw percentage (1st A-10, 3rd NCAA).

20/20 VisionDayton reached the 20-wins mark for the eighth-consecutive season with its 59-45 win at Fordham on Feb. 18. This is the 15th time in the program's 47 seasons that Dayton has reached the 20-win plateau.
Three Points of ExcellenceDayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 447 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012. This season, UD hit 11 three-point baskets in its game against Central Michigan at UD Arena on Dec. 13 and at Kentucky on March 22 in Memorial Coliseum.

Deadly from a DistanceWith 235 made three-point baskets for her career, senior 
Andrea Hoover now holds the Dayton career record for made three-pointers. With one made three-point basket in UD's 82-64 win over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 15, Hoover broke the record previously held by former Flyer Stefanie Miller (221; 1999-04).
You're Invited to a Block PartyThe team's blocks leader for the past two seasons is at it again ... junior 
Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova is averaging 2.6 blocks per game this season which ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and 21st nationally. Cornélie-Sigmundová has 178 career blocks and she ranks third in program history - 42 blocks behind the all-time leader Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88).
First Half Success = Second Half VictoryDayton is 24-3 this season when leading at halftime, including a perfect 14-0 in Atlantic 10 play for 2015. The Flyers are 3-3 when either trailing at the half or tied at halftime.
101 Wins Over Four YearsSince moving up to Division I for the 1984-85 season, the winningest four-year period of Dayton basketball is now 2011-present with 101 wins over 125 games. With 27 wins this season, the senior duo of

Six Flyers Earn End-of-Season RecognitionDayton junior 
Amber Deane was named the Atlantic 10's Sixth Woman of the Year, one of six Flyers to earn end-of-season recognition from the league. Deane is the third Flyer to earn the award, the first since Olivia Applewhite in 2013. Seniors

Jenna Burdette picked up All-Rookie Team honors. Junior

Dayton in the A-10 ChampionshipThe Flyers made their 20th appearance in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship in 2015, having made the post-season tournament every season Dayton has been a member of the league. UD has won one A-10 Championship title (2012) in three previous finals appearances and holds a 20-18 overall record for league tournament games. In 2015, Dayton made its fourth appearance in the championship finals in the last five season.
Flyers in League PlayDayton has won 54 of its last 60 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.900), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season. Of its six A-10 losses over the last four seasons, Dayton has taken three L's at home and three on the road.
She Dropped 30Behind a 13-for-16 night from the floor, senior forward 
Ally Malott scored a career-high 30 points in UD's 87-72 win over Saint Louis on Jan. 31. It was the first time a Flyer had scored 30 points in a game since former Flyer Justine Raterman scored 32 at Duquesne on Feb. 25, 2012. Malott's hard work paid off with an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Feb. 2.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.
Welcome to the TeamDayton signed three to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period: Lauren Cannatelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West), Madeleine Dennis (Perth, Western Australia/Mount Lawley) and Ashleigh Parkinson (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic). The trio will be joining the team in the fall of 2015.

Perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR)Dayton women's basketball has posted a perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for nine consecutive seasons, every year the rate has been published except for one. The Flyers are one of only eight programs to post a perfect score and reach the NCAA Tournament for the past five seasons: Dayton, DePaul, Duke, Iowa State, Notre Dame, St. John's, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Additionally, Dayton was the only school to have both its men's and women's basketball programs post perfect GSR scores and make appearances in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
