| Box Score 2 DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team continued its successful weekend with a win against Valparaiso, while the men's tennis team lost in a close 2-4 defeat. 
 
Coming off an exciting come-from-behind win at UC on Saturday, UD's women's tennis team kept up their momentum heading into Sunday's match against Valparaiso.
 
During doubles competition, the Flyers won the doubles point with two quick wins in the No. 1 spot by Marlys Bridgham and Mandy Marchant, and in the No. 3 spot by Carly Peck and Katie Shepherd. Jackie Kawamoto and Alex Townsend's No. 2 set went unfinished.
 
With the doubles point under their belts, the women dominated during singles competition bringing in wins in the No. 3, 1, and 6 spots. At the conclusion of the match, the Flyer women defeated Valpo with a score of 4-1. This brings UD's women to an overall record of 6-7 for the season.

UD's men's tennis team took to the courts at the Five Seasons Tennis Club at the conclusion of the women's match. Valparaiso grabbed their first two victories of the day during doubles competition in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
 
The Valpo men earned the doubles point and the teams headed into singles competition. Carsten Fisher and Josh Malyon brought in wins in the No. 3 and 4 spots, but they were not enough to close the match for UD. Valparaiso defeated the Flyer men 4-2.

Dayton's tennis teams will both travel to Olean, N.Y. to compete against St. Bonaventure on Thursday, April 2, in their first Atlantic 10 conference matches of the season. Previously schedules conference matches were all cancelled due to weather.  First serve for the men is scheduled for 11a.m. and the women will follow at 3p.m. On Friday, April 3, Flyer tennis will play against Saint Francis in Loretto, PA beginning at 12p.m.
