Box Score 1 | Box Score 3 DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton tennis teams closed their regular seasons this weekend at home against Saint Louis and Duquesne. 
 
The men's team finished the season strong with wins in both of its matches this weekend, while the women's team lost in narrow defeats.
 
On Friday, April 10, the Flyer men took on Saint Louis at the Five Season Tennis Complex. Dayton won the doubles point with victories from the duos of Zach Berry/Carsten Fisher and Aidan Koross/Simon Jayaram. Bernardo Sanson, Zach Berry, Carsten Fisher, Josh Malyon, and Simon Jayaram all defeated their opponents during singles play to earn the Flyers a 6-1 win over Saint Louis.

2. Koross (UD) lost to Ferragut (SLU) 5-7, 4-6

4. Fisher (UD) def. Podhiawala (SLU) 6-1, 6-2
5. Malyon (UD) def. Flores (SLU) 6-1, 6-3

During the women's match against the Bilikens, Marlys Bridgham/ Mandy Marchant worked hard to earn a victory in the No. 1 spot of doubles play, but SLU earned the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and 3 spots. Jackie Kawamoto and Jade Kawamoto brought in the only wins for the Flyer women during singles play in the No. 3 and No. 6 spots. Despite their tremendous effort, the Flyers were defeated by SLU's women's team 2-5.

On Sunday, April 12, the Flyers played their final regular season match at home against Duquesne. The men's team edged the Dukes during doubles play to earn the point with narrow wins by Jayaram/Koross and Sanson/Malyon in the No. 2 and 3 spots. Berry, Fisher, Malyon, and Jayaram kept up the momentum for the Flyers in singles play bringing in four big wins to earn their team a 5-2 victory over Duquesne.

When UD's women's team took to the courts, Jac. Kawamoto/Townsend earned a quick 8-1 doubles win, but it wasn't enough for the doubles point. Townsend, Jac. Kawamoto, and Jad. Kawamoto picked up victories during singles competition, but the Flyers were defeated by Duquesne in a narrow 3-4 loss.

The Flyer men conclude the regular season with a 10-8 overall record, and the women end the season with an 8-9 overall record.
 
Up next, UD's women's team with travel to Charlottesville, VA for the Atlantic 10 Tournament, which takes place from Thursday, April 16 – Sunday, April 19 at the Boar's Head Sports Club. The Flyer men will prepare over the next week and a half until they compete in the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Mason, Ohio from Thursday, April 23, - Sunday, April 26 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
