MASON, Ohio –
The University of Dayton men's tennis team ran into a buzzsaw Friday in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship, falling to defending champion George Washington 4-0.

GW took the doubles points by winning the first and second doubles matches by the identical scores of 8-3.  Needing just three points to advance to the tournament semifinals, The Colonials won at first, sixth and second singles in straight sets.

Francisco Dias beat UD's Aidan Koross 6-0, 6-2.  Cahit Kapukiran got the Flyers' Simon Jayaram 6-1, 6-1.  And Danil Zelenkov won 6-2, 6-0 against Dayton's Bernardo Sanson.

The Flyers ended the season an improved 11-9 in dual matches.  The 11 wins in coach Ryan Meyer's third season are more than in the first two seasons combined.  Dayton will graduate two seniors – Aidan Koross and Josh Malyon – from this year's team.
