DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton Flyers men's soccer team defeated the Butler Bulldogs 5-4 in an exhibition match at Baujan Field on Saturday night, the final preseason game before the season.
STATS OF THE GAME• Dayton had four goals on four shots on goal in the first half. The Flyers led despite being outshot 11-7 in the first 45 minutes.
• The last time Dayton scored five goals in a game was last year against IUPUI (W, 5-0) on September 19, 2014.
• Butler outshot Dayton 19-15 in the contest, but the Flyers put eight on target compared to the Bulldogs' seven.
• There were only 19 fouls committed in the game, half as many as in Dayton's first exhibition match against West Virginia.
