WOMEN'S SOCCER HOSTS OHIO STATE THURSDAY

It's A Red Out And Flyer Fans Are Encouraged To Wear Red

The University of Dayton women's soccer team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 A-10) plays a pair of Big Ten Conference opponents this week. The Flyers host Ohio State (2-0-0) this Thursday, Aug. 27 at Baujan Field. UD then travels to East Lansing, Mich. to take on Michigan State (2-0-0) Sunday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. 

PROMOTIONS
It is a Red Out/Pack the House match and fans are encouraged to wear red. Dayton schedule posters are free to the first 150 fans. Back by popular demand this season, the exclusive Dayton Flyer soccer scarves. Pick up a punch card at the main entrance and get at least eight punches to receive a scarf. A limited number of scarves are available. Admission is free to all regular season home matches at Baujan. 

THE SERIES
• The Flyers are 3-9-1 all-time vs. Ohio State. The Buckeyes won the last meeting 4-2 at the Ohio State Tournament on Sept. 5, 2014. Ashley Campbell had a goal and an assist, while Erin O'Malley also scored a goal. The Flyers came away with a 1-0 win at Ohio State on Sept. 14, 2011. They battled to a 0-0 tie in a 2010 NCAA Second Round match at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes won the shootout 4-2 and advanced to the 2010 NCAA Semifinals. The Flyers are 1-4 vs. OSU when playing at home, the lone home win in 1984.
• Dayton is 6-6-1 all-time vs. Michigan State. The Spartans took the last match 2-1 at Baujan Field on Sept. 1, 2013. 

FLYER FACTS
•  Mike Tucker is in his 21st season as head coach of the Flyers in 2015. He has an overall record of 294-107-29.
• The Flyers led the A-10 in total goals (45) and assists (47) in 2014.
• Senior Ashley Campbell is third on UD's all time scoring list with 46 career goals (6 goals away from second and 12 to tie for first). 
• Senior Nicole Waters was fourth nationally in assists (18) in 2014 and led the nation with 17 assists in 2013. She holds the UD single-season assists record. Her 38 career assists rank third on UD's all-time Top 10 list (five from second place and 12 from tying for the lead).

University of Dayton senior forward Ashley Campbell is ranked No. 35, and senior midfielder Nicole Waters is ranked No. 55 in the 2015 TopDrawerSoccer.com Preseason National Top 100 Women's Soccer list. 

A-10 PRESEASON HONORS
For the seventh consecutive year, the Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. Dayton (12-9-2; 5-2-1 A-10) returns a bulk of its starting lineup, including  2013 Offensive Player of the Year, Ashley Campbell, 2014 Midfielder of the Year, Nicole Waters, 2014 Most Outstanding Player (Championship) Erin O'Malley, and a pair of All-Rookie selections in Alexis Kiehl and Nicolette Griesinger, all of whom were named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team. The Flyers aim to defend their A-10 Championship and add a fifth title in seven years.

FLYER SUCCESS 
The Dayton women's soccer program owns an overall record of 418-174-46 since it became a varsity program in 1984. The Flyers made NCAA Tournament Appearances in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014, advancing to the second round in both 2009 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001. 

BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN 
The Flyers are 209-58-20 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. UD owns a .763 winning percentage in those matches.  In the last six years, Dayton is 54-8-5 at home, an astounding .843 winning percentage at Baujan.
