DAYTON FALLS TO RADFORD IN SEASON OPENER

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team opened up the 2015 regular season on Friday with a tough 2-1 loss to Radford in the James Madison Tournament.

KEY STATS
• The Flyers' record moves to 0-1-0, while Radford goes to 1-0-0.
• Dayton was out-shot in the first half 7-1, but the Flyers' lone attempt on goal was scored. For the game, Radford had 14 shots compared to Dayton's seven attempts.
• In the 74th minute, Dayton senior Kissima Bojang received his second yellow card of the contest resulting in the Flyers playing a man down the remainder of the game.
• Junior goalkeeper Justin Saliba made his first regular season start and recorded three saves in the 90 minutes of action.
• The Flyers were called for offside four times in the contest while Radford had no offside calls.

• "It was a disappointing start for the team after having a strong preseason," stated head coach Dennis Currier. "We made too many mental mistakes against a quality opponent and they capitalized on us. We are getting on top of teams early and then failing to put the game away. We have high expectations for this team with so many seniors in their last season at Dayton."

• Dayton returns to action on Sunday against tournament host James Madison at 2:30 p.m. in Virginia. The first home game for the Flyers will be next Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field when Dayton hosts Cleveland State.
