DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton volleyball team extended its win streak to five with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-19) over Eastern Michigan in the Flyer Invitational finale at Frericks Center Saturday night. Dayton improves to 7-5 on the season while Eastern Michigan falls to 8-5.

Alaina Turner led all attackers with 14 kills while senior
Jill Loiars added 12 kills.

Amber Erhahon chipped in seven kills while hitting at a blistering .700. She also had four blocks and three digs and seniors

Jenna Jendryk each had six kills and three blocks.

Jane Emmenecker set 40 assists while freshman
Margo Wolf got under a team-high 13 digs.
• Eastern Michigan was led by Stacey Perinar with 12 kills and Corynne Smith had a match-high 16 digs.
• Dayton out-hit Eastern Michigan, .360 to .139, and the Flyers tallied 47 kills to the Eagles' 34.
SET-BY-SET• Set One: It was a 7-2 start for Dayton in the first set and after a 6-0 run the Flyer lead was 11 at 19-8. Dayton scored the last three points of the set and cruised to the 25-11 win in the first frame.
• Set Two: Eastern Michigan kept the second game close through a 4-4 tie but Dayton used a 3-0 spurt to pull ahead, 7-4. The Flyers were ahead five, 15-10, but the Eagles slashed the advantage to one, 17-16. EMU stayed in the set but UD finished out the game with a 25-20 victory to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.
• Set Three: UD doubled up EMU, 8-4, in the third set and a kill from Loiars gave the Flyers a 15-9 advantage. A kill by Emmenecker set Dayton up with a seven-point lead at 23-17 and the Flyers claimed a 25-19 win in set three to take the match, 3-0.
UP NEXT• Dayton will hit the road next weekend to open Atlantic 10 Conference play in Pennsylvania. On Friday, Sept. 25, UD will be in Pittsburgh to square off against Duquesne at 7 p.m. followed by another 7 p.m. match on Saturday in Philadelphia at La Salle.
