CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Dayton volleyball team swept UT Martin, 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-6) in its first game of Saturday's doubleheader at the Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational. Dayton improves to 1-4 on the season while Martin falls to 2-6 on the year. Senior
Alaina Turner led all attackers with 17 kills.
STATS OF THE MATCH• Turner tallied 17 kills to only two errors for a career-high match attack percentage of .556.

Jane Emmenecker recorded the match's only double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs. Senior
Janna Krafka was the match's only other double-digit passer with 11 digs.

Amber Erhahon continues to be strong at the net with four blocks (2s-2a) and five kills.
• UT Martin was led by Madison Wessling with nine kills and Colleen Larson with seven digs.
• Dayton out-hit Martin, .500 to .132, and the Flyers' recorded 44 kills to the Skyhawks' 27.
SET-BY-SET• Set One: The first set started slow and was tied early, 3-3, before a 4-1 Dayton run gave the Flyers a 7-4 cushion. Dayton led by as many as seven three times throughout the set and went up eight, 24-16, on a solo block from Erhahon. She then laid down the set-winning kill as UD took the first game, 25-18.
• Set Two: UT Martin scored the first point of the second set but Dayton rattled off the next three to take the advantage. A 7-1 run in the middle of the frame pushed the set out of reach for Martin as Dayton was in control at 19-7. The set ended on a kill from freshman
Lauren Bruns as the Flyer took the 25-12 win to go up 2-0 in the match.
• Set Three: Dayton scored the first eight points of the third set and never looked back. Martin was only able to muster a total of six points in the last set as Dayton took the frame, 25-6, and the match, 3-0.
UP NEXT• Dayton will close out the Saluki Invitational with a 5:30 p.m. ET match-up with 20th-ranked Western Kentucky later today. All matches are being played at SIU Arena.
• Next weekend the Flyers will open the home portion of its schedule with the Dayton Invitational. The two-day event will feature Baylor, Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois and host Dayton. All matches will be played at Frericks Center and admission is free.
