#UDWBB FALLS TO ST. BONAVENTURE, 59-54

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team fell 59-54 against St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night at UD Arena.  The loss drops Dayton to 8-9 overall and 1-5 in A-10 play while the Bonnies improve to 17-2 and 6-0 in the A-10. 

GAME BREAKDOWN
1Q:  Dayton connected on its first four shots of the game to build an early 9-5 lead, including six points from senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova and was able to increase its lead to 18-9 by the end of the quarter. The Flyers held the Bonnies to just 4-14 (29%) shooting in the first quarter and UD out-rebounded SBU, 14-3.
2Q:  After a layup from freshman Ashleigh Parkinson extended the Dayton lead to 29-17 with 2:57 left in the quarter, St. Bonaventure responded with a 7-0 run to cut the lead back to three.  But, with 15 seconds left in the quarter, junior Saicha Grant-Allen connected on a mid-range jumper to close out scoring in the first half and give Dayton a 31-26 lead at halftime. 
3Q:  Miranda Drummond knocked down her fourth 3-pointer of the game to cut Dayton's lead down to 42-40 with 4:39 to play in the quarter. Dayton scored the final five points of the quarter to bring the lead back up to seven, 47-40, heading into the final quarter. Freshman Lauren Cannatelli and junior Andrijana Cvitkovic scored seven points apiece to combine for 14 of Dayton's 16 points in the third quarter.
4Q:  Dayton brought its lead up to 54-44, the first double-digit lead in the second half, with 4:30 to play on a layup from freshman Jenna Burdette. The Bonnies responded by scoring the last 15 points of the game to record the win, 59-54. Drummond made a 3-pointer to give the Bonnies a 55-54 lead with 25 seconds remaining, their first lead since the 8:08 mark in the first quarter. Cvitkovic and Grant-Allen both put up a shot during Dayton's final possession, but neither would drop. SBU's Emily Michael and Katie Healy both knocked down a pair of free throws in the waning seconds to cap off the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Andrijana Cvitkovic led Dayton in scoring with 14 points.  Cvitkovic also added six rebounds for the Flyers.
- The Flyers were nearly flawless from the line, shooting 13-14 (93%) on free throws on the night.
- St. Bonaventure's win was their 16th in a row, which is the third-longest active winning streak in the nation.
- St. Bonaventure's Miranda Drummond led all scorers with 23 points.

KEY STATS
- Dayton out-rebounded St. Bonaventure, 47-39.
- Dayton also held the Bonnies to 32% shooting from the field (21-65) and just 24% (6-25) on 3-pointers.  St. Bonaventure entered the game leading the A-10 in field goal percentage (43.6%) and second in 3-point percentage (33.6%).

The Flyers will travel to Philadelphia for a matchup with Saint Joseph's (9-9, 3-3 A-10) on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 12 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on CBS SportsNetwork.
