MEN'S SOCCER TAKES ON LA SALLE WEDNESDAY

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will remain on the road to take on La Salle Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.  It will be the fifth Atlantic 10 game of the season for UD.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the weekend with a 5-7-2 record overall and 1-2-1 conference mark. The Flyers are 1-4-2 away from home this season and 0-1-1 on the road in A-10 games. Head coach Dennis Currier is in his 12th year in charge.

The Flyers are averaging 1.07 goals per game and giving up 1.14 to opponents each contest. UD is out-shooting opposing teams 14.4 to 12.4 and has a corner kick advantage.

UD is led by freshman Rok Taneski, who has four goals and five assists while leading the team in shots and shots on goal. Sophomore Kennedy Nwabia has added four goals and two assists as well. Freshman goalkeeper Federico Barrios has made seven starts in his debut season with three shutouts and a 0.59 goals against average.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
LA SALLE

La Salle goes into the game with a 6-7 record on the year and a 1-3 A-10 mark. The Explorers are currently 11th in the league standings and fighting to get into the postseason spots.

As a team, the Explorers are scoring 1.15 goals each game and allowing 1.31 to opponents. La Salle is being out-shot 13.4 to 10.8, but is even with opposing teams in corner kicks.

La Salle is led offensively by Matt Robinson, who has two goals and five assists, and Colman Kennedy, who has four goals and an assist. Goalkeeper Mike Kirk has a 1.21 goals against average, 47 saves, and four shutouts in 12 starts.

THE SERIES
Dayton and  La Salle have met 23 times previously with the Flyers winning 13 of those contests. In the last match-up on Oct. 17, 2015, UD defended its home field with a 5-0 victory over the Explorers.

LAST OUTING
Dayton is coming off a tough overtime loss at St. Bonaventure this past Saturday in New York. The host Bonnies scored in the 98th minute to steal the late victory from the Flyers.

La Salle also suffered a 1-0 defeat, coming at home to Fordham on Saturday. The visitin Rams scored in the 7th minute and held off the Explorers for the remainder of the game.

AMONGST THE BEST
UD ranks first in the A-10 in shots per game and second in fewest fouls per game. Individually, Taneski leads the league in shots per game and total assists while Barrios is first in GAA.

La Salle leads the A-10 in shots on goal per game and is fourth in total goals. Individually, Matt Robinson is first in assists per game and total assists.

UP NEXT
The Flyers will return home to host Rhode Island Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field in A-10 action.
