DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton rowing team hosted Ohio State club rowing Saturday on the Great Miami River. 

The UD novice 4+ boat won its race in a time of 15:14, defeating OSU's time of 17:14 by two minutes, exactly. However, OSU took the Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ races. 

"The weather and river cooperated for a good day of racing," said Head Coach Mike Wenker. "Hats off to the novice team. They showed some real speed in their first races. On the varsity side, OSU pushed away from the start and did not look back. The varsity boats looked heavy on the racecourse. We have a week to figure things out before the end of the season and another chance to race OSU, the University of Cincinnati and Marietta."
