#UDVB REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS WITH 3-0 WIN OVER DAVIDSON

Flyers Earn Program's 13th A-10 Regular Season Title and No. 1 Seed for A-10 Championship

DAYTON, Ohio - The 23rd-ranked Dayton volleyball team secured the out-right 2016 Atlantic 10 Regular Season title with its 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-19) win over Davidson on Friday night at Frericks Center. This is the program's 13th regular-season crown and the Flyers have earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming A-10 Championship.

Dayton improves to 27-1 in the season and 13-0 in league action while Davidson moves to 10-17 overall and 5-8 in A-10 play.

STATS OF THE MATCH
• Junior Jessica Sloan posted a match-high 18 kills to go with seven digs and two blocks while sophomore Lauren Bruns tallied 11 kills as the only other player with double-digit kills.
• Junior Maggie Schutter led all passers with 16 digs and junior Jane Emmenecker set a match-high 32 assists, narrowly missing the double-double with nine digs.
• Dayton recorded 48 kills as a team to Davidson's 27 and the Flyers out-hit the Wildcats, .245 to .079.
• Davidson was led by Mason Rooney with six kills and 13 assists. As a team, the Wildcats tallied seven blocks to the Flyers' three.

SET-BY-SET
• Set One: Davidson opened the match by serving up an ace but Dayton scored the next three to claim a quick 3-1 lead. The Wildcats continued to keep it close but the Flyers were able to pull ahead three, 12-9, after a kill from Sloan. A kill from K. Brown gave UD a four-point lead at 18-14 but DAV rallied to within one at 18-17. Consecutive kills from Sloan pushed Dayton in front, 20-17 and Davidson called for timeout. A Wildcat service error set the score at 22-19 in favor of the Flyers and Dayton was able to take the set 25-22.
• Set Two: Tied at 2-2, Davidson rattled off three to take a 5-2 lead early in the second set. Trailing 7-4, the Flyers put together a 6-0 run before the Wildcats signaled for a break with UD up, 10-7. In the end, Dayton scored 10 unanswered before Davidson could stop the rally trailing 14-7. UD remained in control and was up six, 20-14, with DAV burned its second timeout. The Flyers earned set point on a kill from junior Amber Erhahon at 24-18 and she sealed the second-set win with a kill at 25-19.
• Set Three: Dayton tallied the first points of set three and were up 7-4 after a kill from Bruns. A Peterson kill capped off a 3-0 spurt for UD, pushing the advantage to five, 10-5, and Dayton was up five again at 12-7 after a kill from Sloan. When the Flyers reached 15 up six, the Wildcats needed a timeout and back-to-back Sloan terminations helped Dayton to an 18-11 advantage. DAV was able to get within three, 19-16, and the margin would be three again at 21-18. Dayton scored four of the last five points of the match and won the third set, 25-19, to take the match, 3-0.

UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the 2016 regular season Sunday at home for Senior Day. UD will play host to VCU for a 1 p.m. matinee at Frericks Center. Two departing team members will be recognized prior to the match.
