MADISON, Wis. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team had a dominate second half en route to a 19-point win over the University of Wisconsin on Wednesday.
The Flyers (1-1) were even with the Badgers (0-3) in the first half, but outscored the hosts 58-37 in the second half to keep Wisconsin winless on the season.

st Quarter – Dayton 17, Wisconsin 17
The Flyers trailed the Badgers early on 8-2 before mounting a comeback and taking a 15-11 lead with just under three minutes to go in the quarter. Both teams went back and forth over the final few minutes and finished the first tied at 17 apiece. Freshman

nd Quarter – Dayton 25, Wisconsin 29
The second quarter started similar to the first with Wisconsin taking momentum early. The Flyers were trailing 21-17 before pulling within one at 24-23 on a big three by Layfield. The Badgers finished the quarter on a 5-2 run and led at the half by four.

rd Quarter – Dayton 56, Wisconsin 45
Dayton took the lead 34-33 on four straight points by junior
Jenna Burdette and pushed it to three at 38-35. Austria followed with a crucial three-pointer at the 5:45 mark, forcing a Wisconsin timeout and putting UD ahead 42-36, the Flyers biggest lead of the game up to that point. Dayton continued to pressure offensively and extended the advantage to 10 at 49-39 by the media timeout. Scaife led the charge for the Flyers in the third. A 31-point quarter gave Dayton a large advantage going into the final period.

th Quarter – Dayton 83, Wisconsin 64
With a large lead going into the final quarter, one would think the Flyers would let up, but they continued to press and added to their already commanding lead. UD outscored Wisconsin 27-19 in the fourth quarter after outscoring the Badgers 31-16 in the third. The Flyers scored 58 points in the final 20 minutes.
