UD OPENS THE WOODEN LEGACY AGAINST NEBRASKA
  • The University of Dayton Flyers open the 2016 Wooden Legacy against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thanksgiving at 8:30 p.m. ET.
  • The game will be carried by ESPNU and is available with live streaming video, audio and stats at DaytonFlyers.com.

ABOUT NEBRASKA
  • The Nebraska Cornhuskers, 3-0 overall, enter the contest with the best scoring defense in the Big Ten, allowing 51.7 points per game.
  • Nebraska showcases a balanced attack with three players averaging in double figures: Tai Webster (17.7 ppg), Jack McVeigh (14.7) and Glynn Watson Jr. (10.3).

SERIES STUFF
  • This is the first meeting between the two programs.

IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT TIDBITS
  • The Flyers took second at the 2015 AdvoCare Invitational after defeating Iowa and Monmouth in the first two rounds.
  • Since 2003, UD has won three of the seven early season basketball tournaments it has played in.
  • The Flyers won the 2011 Old Spice Classic after defeating Wake Forest, Fairfield and Minnesota.
  • UD won the 2003 EA Sports Maui Invitational.
  • In 2008, the Flyers defeated No. 15 Marquette in the Chicago Invitational Challenge final.

CONQUERING GOLIATH
  • UD has been powerful against the power conferences. Dayton is 31-12 in the last 10 years against the power five programs.
  • Against Big Ten schools, Dayton has won four of the last five meetings.
  • The Flyers are 1-0 this season over power five schools with a win at Alabama.
  • UD went 4-1 in 2015-16 against power five schools after wins over No. 21/16 Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arkansas and Iowa.
  • Dayton's 31 victories have come against Ole Miss (five times), Alabama (four times), Georgia Tech (three times), Boston College and Auburn (twice), Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Stanford, Syracuse, Ohio State, California, North Carolina, Minnesota, Illinois, Louisville, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Iowa and Pittsburgh once.
  • Dayton has won 14 of the last 17, including four straight, versus SEC opponents and eight of the last nine against the ACC.

SUPERIOR SENIORS
  • The senior class of Kyle Davis, Scoochie Smith and Kendall Pollard are on pace to be the winningest class in UD history.
  • The trio has 80 victories in their first 109 games, two wins ahead of the pace of the Class of 2011 (Chris Wright, Devin Searcy, Peter Zesterman and Logan Nourse).
  • The Class of 2011 finished with 97 wins.

  • Charles Cooke and Scoochie Smith are the only Flyers to have scored in double figures in every game this season.
  • 20 of Cooke's 38 points the previous two games have come at the free throw line.
  • Dayton has won 23 of the last 26 games when three or more players score in double figures.
