DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team trounced regional foe Tennessee State 6-1 on Friday evening at the Five Seasons Sports Park.
Dayton jumped out early thanks to a strong doubles showing. The combination of
Jade Kawamoto and
Mandy Marchant swept their opponent 6-0, while
Jackie Kawamoto and
Alex Townsend cruised passed their pairing 6-1.
When the teams switched over to singles the momentum stayed on the Flyers side, picking up wins from Townsend, both Kawamoto sisters, Marchant,
Marlys Bridgham and
Mattea Kilstofte.
The win was the second in a row for UD, and improves their record on the season to 7-2.

UP NEXTUD will return to the courts on Thursday, Feb. 25 when they square off with Western Illinois University at the WIU Tennis Facility. It is the first of a three-match roadtrip that also included SIU-Edwardsville on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saint Louis on Saturday, Feb. 27.
