Box Score SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Dayton men's tennis team wrapped up its three match road trip with a convincing 5-2 win over Atlantic 10 rival Saint Louis on Saturday afternoon at the Sunset Tennis Center.
Saturday's victory gives Dayton its 11th of the season and seventh in a row.
For the second straight match the Flyers fell behind after losing the doubles point, with only
Simon Jayaram and
Bernardo Sanson pulling out a victory, but UD rallied once the match moved to singles.
Jordan Benjamin took the win at No. 1 with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory, while
Carsten Fisher brought home a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Zach Berry added a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 3, while
Lorenzo Rollhauser took care of his opponent at No. 5, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. Wrapping up the victory for the Flyers was
Andy Druffel, who won at No. 5 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 10-6.
UP NEXTThe victory sends Dayton into an extended break, as the Flyers don't return to action until Friday, March 11th when they welcome A-10 foe Saint Joseph's to the Gem City.
