O'FALLON, Ill. – The University of Dayton women's tennis team finished their three match road trip with a hard-fought, 5-2 loss at the hands of Atlantic 10 rival Saint Louis on Saturday evening at the St. Clair Tennis Club.
Dayton started the match on the right foot, earning the doubles points thanks to victories from pairs
Alex Townsend and
Jackie Kawamoto and
Jade Kawamoto and
Mandy Marchant by scores of 6-2 and 6-3 respectively.
Saint Louis battled back in the singles, however, with only
Jade Kawamoto able to pull out victory for the Flyers, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7. Four of the six singles competitions went to a tiebreak set, but UD was only able to break through for victory at No. 5.
UP NEXTThe Flyers are back in action on Friday, March 4 when they welcome Bradley to the Five Season Sports Park for a 5 p.m. start time.
