WOMEN'S HOOPS HEADED TO NEW ENGLAND FOR TILT AT URI

Dayton to Match-Up Against Rhode Island Sunday at 2 p.m.

DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton women's basketball will head to the east coast for a Sunday afternoon match-up against Rhode Island. The Flyers and Rams will tip off at 2 p.m. at URI's Ryan Center.

Flyer Facts
» Head coach Jim Jabir is in his 13th season (249-149) at the helm of the Dayton women's team in 2015-16. He was named the eighth head coach, and first male, in the history of the program on April 8, 2003. Jabir holds a career record of 469-372 over 29 seasons.
» Dayton participated in its sixth-consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2015. It was the fifth at-large bid for the Flyers and the team's first appearance in a NCAA Regional Final.
» This is the Flyers' 48th season (1968-69) as an intercollegiate sport at Dayton. UD's all-time record sits at 752-563 (.572).
» The Flyers are 170-144 (.541) in Atlantic 10 regular season play (21st season).
» With five blocks at Duquesne on Jan. 3, senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova broke the school record for all-time career blocks, a record that has stood since 1988. She has 254 career blocks and counting and is currently leading the A-10 with 3.5 bpg.
» Freshman Lauren Cannatelli has made a team-best 39 three-point baskets this season which currently ranks second all-time among Flyer freshman. Former Flyer Justine Raterman sank 47 three-pointers her first year on the team (2008-09).

About the Flyers
Dayton (11-9, 4-5 A-10) is currently enjoying a three-game win streak after wins over Saint Joseph's, La Salle and Davidson. The Flyers had a mid-week bye on Wednesday but are back in action against the Rhode Island Rams Sunday afternoon. UD is led by junior Saicha Grant-Allen with 11.0 ppg. and 8.1 rpg. (7th A-10) while sophomore Jenna Burdette dishes out 4.2 apg. (5th A-10) and senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova swats 3.5 bpg. (1st A-10).

Scouting Rhode Island
Rhode Island (11-10, 5-4) is coming off a 62-52 win over La Salle at home on Wednesday night. The Rams have won five of their last seven games after opening Atlantic 10 play with back-to-back losses. URI is led by Charise Wilson with 16.5 ppg. (3rd A-10) and Samantha Tabakman with 14.6 ppg. (10th A-10) and 8.4 rpg. (6th A-10).

Last Time Out
After sinking six of her nine field-goal attempts, junior Christy Macioce led Dayton with a career-high 17 points in a 77-66 win over Davidson on January 31. Three other Flyers reached double digits in scoring, including junior Saicha Grant-Allen who narrowly missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Jenna Burdette turned in an all-around performance for UD with 10 points seven rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals.

The Series
UD holds a commanding 20-4 advantage in the all-time series between Dayton and Rhode Island. The two first squared off 20 years ago in Kingston with URI claiming an 87-72 win. The Flyers are currently enjoying a 12-game winning streak against the Rams.

Flyers in League Play
Dayton has won 58 of its last 69 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.841), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

We'll Take the Free Ones
As a team the Flyers shot 76.4 percent from the free throw line in 2013-14, the BEST team free throw percentage in Dayton history heading into the 2015-16 season. The Flyers are once again shooting well from the line this season, currently coming in at 73.2 percent (the fifth-best free-throw percentage) which ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10.

You're Invited to a Block Party
The team's blocks leader for the past four seasons, senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova averages 2.23 blocks/game for her career which ranks 16th among all Division I active players while her career total of 254 blocks ranks eighth nationally among all DI actives. With five blocks at Duquesne on Jan. 3, Cornélie-Sigmundová's career blocks total ranks her FIRST in Dayton program history - surpassing the previous record holder, Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88), and breaking a program record that stood for 28 seasons. Her career-high nine blocks against VCU on Jan. 13 is the second-most blocks in one game all-time by a Flyer.

Burdette in the A-10
Averaging a team-best 4.2 assists/game, sophomore Jenna Burdette ranks fifth in the Atlantic 10. She can also be found in several other categories ranked among the best in the league: ninth with a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio, 11th with a .787 free-throw percentage and 13th with a .354 three-point field-goal percentage.

70's the Magic Number
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 119-12 (.908) when scoring 70 or more points, including 24-2 in 2014-15. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

Three Points of Excellence
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 468 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.

Speaking of Threes ...
Cincinnati native freshman Lauren Cannatelli has made a team-best 39 three-point baskets this season which currently ranks second all-time among Flyer freshman. Former Flyer Justine Raterman sank 47 three-pointers her first year on the team (2008-09). Cannatelli's 35.8 three-point field-goal percentage (39-109) is also the second-best average by a UD freshman (Raterman - (47-119) 39.5).

We've Got an Audience
With a crowd of 10,159 at UD Arena for Dayton's season opener against Yale on Nov. 13, the Flyers currently boast the seventh-most attended game this season. The record crowd was due to the overwhelming success of UD's annual School Day game, a chance for local school-aged children to take a field trip with the Flyers. With a home attendance average of 3,183, Dayton ranks 34th out of 349 DI programs.

You Look Familiar ...
Senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova has seen action in 114 career games as a Flyer - missing only three games her first season on the squad. Since she joined the team prior to the 2012-13 season, the Flyers have an 90-27 (.769) mark with Cornélie-Sigmundová on the roster.

First Half Success = Second Half Victory
Dayton is 8-3 this season when leading at halftime. The Flyers are 3-6 when either trailing at the half or tied at halftime.
