NO. 19/17 DAYTON ROARS BACK TO EDGE DUQUESNE, 76-74

DAYTON, Ohio - The No. 19/17 University of Dayton Flyers came from 10 points down late in the second half to defeat the Duquesne Dukes 76-74 Tuesday night at UD Arena. The victory is the Flyers' eighth straight, as well as the 20th straight Atlantic 10 win at UD Arena. Charles Cooke led the Flyers in both scoring and rebounds, with 22 points and eight rebounds.
Dayton breaks the 20 win barrier as they are now 20-3 on the season and 10-1 in the A-10. Duquesne falls to 15-9 on the season, and 5-6 in conference play.

Game Breakdown
Duquesne got off to a hot start, getting an early 26-16 lead by the 10:40 mark of the first half thanks to hot three-point shooting from Mason (4-4 3FG in the first half).
The Flyers quickly responded with a 10-0 run, catalyzed by Sam Miller who had eight of those points off the bench.
Charles Cooke built off Sam Miller's energy with five of the Flyers' next six points, helping Dayton even the score 35-35 going into the half.
UD continued the momentum opening the second half, starting off a 7-0 run thanks to the Dayton defense pressing the Dukes to start 0/6 shooting.
The Flyer lead got to as large as nine, but Duquesne slowed the Flyer attack while catching fire from outside to take a 53-51 lead at the 11:57 mark.
The Dukes run continued, extending it to as large as 12 points thanks to Colter scoring 11 of the Dukes next 16 points.
The final 5:30 in the second half was all Flyers, who proceeded to go on a 16-1 run thanks to 7-10 FG offensively, and holding the Dukes to 0-6 FG and 4 TO.
The Flyers took the lead for good at the 0:44 mark with a big Scoochie Smith three to make the game 73-70.
The Dayton defense continued to stifle Duquesne, while doing just enough at the free throw line to come away with a 76-74 victory.

Inside the Numbers
The Flyers gained their eighth straight home victory, as well as winning 35 of its last 36 at home.
Charles Cooke led Dayton in points, rebounds, and blocks, with 22, eight, and three respectively.
Sam Miller came off the bench for the Flyers to score 8 points in the first half on 3-4 FG and 2-2 3FG.
Kyle Davis led the Flyers' second-half efforts with 15 points on 5-6 shooting, with 4-5 FT.
Scoochie Smith added 14 points and four assists.
The Flyers won the rebound battle 42-39, including the offensive rebound margin 10-5.
At 20-3, the Flyers break the 20 win mark for the third straight season and continue to have their best start in the Archie Miller era.
