NO. 7 SEED DAYTON FACES NO. 10 SEED SYRACUSE IN THE NCAA FIRST ROUND• The University of Dayton Flyers will face the Syracuse Orange in the first round of the Midwest Region on Friday at 12:15 p.m. ET.

ABOUT SYRACUSE• The Syracuse Orange, 19-13 overall and 9-9 ACC, enter the tournament as the No. 10 seed in the Midwest Region.
• The Orange are led by All-ACC Second Team honoree Michael Gbinije (17.8 points per game).
• Malachi Richardson (13.2 ppg), Trevor Cooney (12.8 ppg) and Tyler Lydon (10.1 ppg) are also averaging better than 10 points per contest.
SERIES STUFF• Dayton leads the all-time series 2-1.
• The last time the two programs met was also in the NCAA Tournament. Dayton defeated Syracuse 55-53 in Buffalo on March 22, 2014.
BIG DANCE BITES• Dayton has won five NCAA Tournament games the previous two years, one of six schools (Kentucky, Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan State and UConn) to accomplish that feat.
• In 2014, the Flyers advanced to the Elite Eight after defeating Ohio State, Syracuse and Stanford.
