DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team earned a split on Friday, taking down Green Bay 4-1 and then falling to Northern Kentucky 4-3 in the day's second match at Five Seasons Sports Park.

DAYTON 4 GREEN BAY 1
In the day's first match, Dayton got out to a strong start thanks to a 6-2 win from top doubles pair Marlys Bridgham and Mattea Kilstofte. Clinching the doubles point was Mandy Marchant and Jade Kawamoto, who were also victorious 6-2.

Dayton held control for the rest of the match behind a strong showing from its sophomore class. Bridgham took a 6-2, 6-3 victory at number one, while classmates Jade and Jackie Kawamoto won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-2 respectively. 

NORTHERN KENTUCKY 4 DAYTON 3
The day's second match wasn't as kind to the Flyers, as the Norse of NKU used a dominating singles performance to take a 4-3 victory.

Dayton jumped out on top by earning the doubles point behind Marlys Bridgham and Mattea Kilstofte at the No. 1 spot. The duo earned a 6-1 victory over NKU's top pair, while Mandy Marchant and Jade Kawamoto won at No. 2 6-2.

UD was victorious at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, where Jade Kawamoto was leading 4-0 at the time of her opponent's retirement, and Mandy Marchant came out on top 6-3, 6-1. Northern Kentucky would rally to win No. 1, 2, 3 and 6 singles.

The Flyers hit the road for a two match swing in North Carolina. They'll take on Charlotte on Thursday, March 24 at 1 p.m. and follow that up with an Atlantic 10 match against Davidson at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
