DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team is set for a pair of matches this weekend, playing host to Butler on Friday and welcoming Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure to the Five Seasons Sports Park on Sunday.
Butler comes into the match 1-19 overall on the season and 0-1 in Big East play. The Bulldogs have not won a match since a Feb. 12 defeat of Indianapolis, a losing streak that has now reached 12 matches. BU is led by Konstantina Adami, who has three wins this season at the No. 2 singles spot. They also get solid production from Rachel Sutton, who has a team-high five wins on the season.
Dayton looks to even its record in Atlantic 10 play against St. Bonaventure, who comes into the weekend with a 4-12 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the A-10. The Bonnies most recently fell short against Oakland, 5-2, on March 20.
The Bonnies are led by Fatya Amiri who has a 10-9 record at the No. 1 singles spot. Marisa Brossard has a 9-8 record at No. 2 and Mariam Skhirtladze has a team-high 11 wins at No. 4. The top doubles pairing for SBU is Brossard and Mara Martinez-Santori, who have a 10-7 record as the Bonnies' top pair.
UD opens the weekend on Friday at 4 p.m. against Butler and wraps up the weekend with an 11 a.m.
