Box Score DAYTON, Ohio –
Alex Townsend led a dramatic comeback to give the University of Dayton women's tennis team a 4-3 victory over Bradley University on Friday night at the Five Seasons Sports Park.
Townsend dropped the first set at No. 2 singles, 7-6, and was trailing 5-0 when her rally began. The sophomore came back to win 7-5 in the second set and then took the final 6-4 to give the Flyers the victory.
Mattea Kilstofte and
Jade Kawamoto also picked up singles victories by scores of 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1 respectively.
Dayton started the match off strong by sweeping the doubles point.
Marlys Bridgham and
Mattea Kilstofte won at top doubles 6-3,
Alex Townsend and
Jackie Kawamoto defeated their opponent at No. 2 6-2, and
Jade Kawamoto and
Mandy Marchant beat the No. 3 foe 6-3.
