FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of Dayton softball team mounted an epic seventh-inning rally to sweep the double header against George Mason on Sunday afternoon at the GMU Softball Complex.
With two outs and a runner aboard, the Flyers strung together five straight hits to turn a one-run deficit into a four-run advantage.
Dayton improves to 17-14-1 on the season and 6-2-1 in the Atlantic 10.

Gabrielle Snyder picked up another double in her 2-for-4 performance, and now sits just eight back of the all-time Dayton record.

Manda Cash tossed the complete game shutout, allowing just two base hits and striking out eight Patriots along the way.
GAME TWO – DAYTON 6 GEORGE MASON 2Scoring BreakdownBottom 1st – The Patriots got their first run of the day courtesy of a Dayton error with two outs that brought home a run and gave GMU a 1-0 lead.
Bottom 5th – George Mason tacked on a key insurance run on a fielder's choice that gave the home team a 2-0 lead.
Top 6th – Dayton put its first run on the board thanks to a wild pitch, cutting the deficit in half at 2-1.

Madi Maloof came through with a two-out, RBI single that scored senior
Kirsten Bartlett from second base to tie the game 2-2.

Manda Cash came through with an RBI single up the middle to put the Flyers on top, 3-2.

Gabrielle Snyder sent a rocket into centerfield to widen the Flyers lead to 4-2.

Hannah DeSalvo made it four straight RBI singles with a drive of her own through the left side of the infield, giving UD a 5-2 advantage.

Krista Gustafson put the exclamation mark on the inning with an RBI double to right field that scored DeSalvo and brought the game to its final score of 6-2.
Key Stats- Snyder finished the game 2-for-3, making her 4-for-6 with a run scored and RBI in the double header.
- The Indianapolis, Ind. native also picked up the win in the circle for the Flyers, tossing six innings and striking out two while not allowing an earned run to move to 6-1 on the season.
- Gustafson's double was her third of the season and the only extra-base hit of the game for the Flyers.
- Dayton's win was the second time this season they came back from a one-run deficit in the 7th inning to come out on top.
