COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team gave No. 23/RV Ohio State a run for its money on Wednesday night, outhitting OSU 4-1 but ultimately falling 1-0 at Buckeye Field.

Bottom 1st – With one away, the Buckeyes took an early lead thanks to Alex Bayne's 18th home run of the season.

Key Stats
Dayton outhit Ohio State, 4-1, but the Flyers were 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

UD and OSU combined for 21 strikeouts, the most in a seven-inning game this season for Dayton.

Sophomore Manda Cash allowed just one hit, the Bayne home run, and struck out nine OSU batters.

Senior Krista Gustafson had half of Dayton's hits on the night, going 2-for-3 in the game.
