DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team wrapped up the 2016 regular season with a 4-1 loss to the University of Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon at Five Seasons Sports Park.
The Bearcats jumped ahead by earning the doubles point in two tightly-contested matches. UC would go on to take victories at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6 to win the match.
Dayton's lone victory came from
Jade Kawamoto at No. 4 singles, coming out on top by scores of 6-3, 6-3.
Alex Townsend and
Jackie Kawamoto were both leading their singles matches at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively, but the match was called when Cincinnati secured victory.
UP NEXTThe next time the Flyers hit the courts it will be in the Atlantic 10 Championships. The event kicks off Thursday, April 21 and runs through Sunday, April 24 in Mason, Ohio.
