AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Dayton softball team finished out the regular season with a road loss at the University of Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon, falling by a 4-1 final at Sortino Field.

Scoring Breakdown
Top 1st – Dayton scored its first run of the weekend thanks to a two-out double off the bat of senior Krista Gustafson that scored junior Gabrielle Snyder from first and gave UD a 1-0 lead.
Bottom 1st – The Flyers' lead didn't last long, as Massachusetts erased the deficit thanks to back-to-back bases loaded walks that made the score 2-1.
Bottom 4th – UMass widened the lead with two more runs that came thanks to a bases loaded single through the right side and made it 4-1.

Key Stats
Senior Kennedy Haynes was the lone Flyer with a multi-hit game, smacking two singles and finishing the day 2-for-3.

Fellow senior Krista Gustafson had a double and the only RBI of the weekend for Dayton.

Dayton pitching issued six free passes (four walks, two hit by pitch) in the game, two of which came around to score and two more that drove in runs.

UP NEXT
Dayton ends the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic 10 tournament, earning a first round bye. The Flyers will play their first game on Thursday, May 12.
