The University of Dayton women's soccer team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 A-10) hosts Bucknell (2-0-0) in its home opener this Friday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. The match will be streamed for free on DaytonFlyers.com. Nina DiGuardi Vasiliu and Jeremy Lance will have the call. 

• The Flyers are 21-7-4 all-time in home openers.

Promotions for match vs. Bucknell include: A free concert by UD student Max Boyle, who will also sing the national anthem.

• The Flyers then host Kent State (1-1-0) this Sunday, Aug. 28 at noon. This match will be aired on Time Warner Cable TV. Alex Mikos and Jeremy Lance will have the call.

FLYER FACTS
• The Flyers finished the 2015 season with a 10-9-1 overall record and an 8-2-0 mark in the Atlantic 10, finishing second in the league's regular season standings.
• Dayton lost two seniors to graduation who accounted for 52 percent of the Flyers' goal scoring in 2015: Ashley Campbell (17) and Nicole Waters (6); 23 of the 44 goals scored. They also accounted for 53 percent of UD's assists last year: Waters (17) and Campbell (9); 26 of 49. 
• Dayton's leading returning goal scorer is junior Alexis Kiehl (8 goals), who was named to the 2016 A-10 Preseason Team. She was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 forward in 2015 and a second team selection in 2014 as a freshman.
• Kaelyn Johns started every game in goal as a true freshman last year. She finished her rookie campaign with 79 saves and a 1.65 GAA. 

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
• The Bison are 2-0-0 to start the season with a 3-1 win over Monmouth and a 1-0 win over St. Francis (Pa.).
• Bucknell finished second in the Patriot League, behind Boston, in 2015. 
• The Bison return Patriot League All-Conference First Teamer Kendall Ham.

SCOUTING KENT STATE
• Kent State is 1-1-0 going into the weekend, with a 3-0 loss to No. 23 Ohio State and a 3-0 win over Canisius. 
• KSU was selected to finish atop the Mid-American Conference East Division in 2016.

• This marks the first meeting between Dayton and Bucknell in women's soccer.

BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN 
• The Flyers are 215-61-20 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. UD owns a .763 winning percentage in those matches.  In the last six years, Dayton is 60-11-5 at home, an astounding .821 winning percentage at Baujan. 
• Dayton's first home match of the 2015 season vs. then No. 18 Ohio State drew 2,102 fans, the second-largest attendance for a UD women's soccer match at Baujan Field in program history.

KIEHL EARNS PRESEASON RECOGNITION
• For the second consecutive season, Flyer forward Alexis Kiehl was named to the A-10 Preseason team.

FLYERS ARE FAVORED AGAIN
• For the eighth consecutive year, the Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. The Flyers earned 185 votes and eight first place votes to take the top spot in the rankings.

DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND 
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: nine times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014). 
• UD has also won or shared 11 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The next closest is Massachusetts with five. 

TERRIFIC TUCKER
• Flyer Head Coach Mike Tucker is in his 22nd season at UD and has amassed an overall record of 304-116-30 overall and 163-31-11 vs. A-10 opponents. 
• The legendary coach announced he will retire following the 2016 season. 
• UD's 3-1 win over Fordham on Oct. 18, 2015 at Baujan Field marked the 300th career victory for Coach Mike Tucker. He is one of just 17 active coaches to have won 300 matches in NCAA Division I Women's Soccer.

FLYER SUCCESS 
• The Dayton women's soccer program owns an overall record of 428-181-47 since it became a varsity program in 1984. 
• The Flyers made NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014, advancing to the second round in both 2009 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001.
