FLYERS FALL IN HOME OPENER, 2-0

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's soccer team suffered a tough 2-0 loss in its home opener on Sunday to Western Michigan.

The Flyers (0-2-0) remain winless on the season after falling to the undefeated Broncos (2-0-0).

SCORING BREAKDOWN
  • 5th Minute – WMU 1, UD 0 – Brandon Bye scored his second of the season on the assists by Nathan Hoover and Jay McIntosh with a shot from 22-yards out to the lower left corner of goal.
  • 83rd Minute – WMU 2, UD 0 – Dzenan Nezirevic collected the rebound off the Dayton keeper after Bye's initial shot was blocked, before driving it into the net.

KEY STATS
  • At the half, Dayton had one shot compared to WMU's seven
  • WMU had a 5-0 corner kick advantage over Dayton in the first 45 minutes
  • The Flyers finished with five total shots, three on goal.
