Box Score MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team opened up the 2017 spring season with a close, 4-3 road loss to Wright State at the South Regency Tennis Center on Saturday night.
Wright State took an early lead with the doubles point, but the Flyers struck back with wins at No. 1, 3 and 4 singles. In the end, the Raiders clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 6 singles.
Junior Marlys Bridgham made quick work of her opponent at No. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 6-3. Sophomore Mattea Kilstofte cruised as well, winning 6-2, 6-2. Junior Jade Kawamoto wrapped up the scoring for the Flyers, coming back after falling 7-6 in set one to win 6-1, 6-2 and earn the victory.

Dayton will host Eastern Illinois on Friday, January 27 at 7 p.m. for its 2017 home opener at Five Seasons Sports Park.
