Erhahon Leads #UDVB In Sweep Of Davidson

Senior Middle Blocker was One of Four Flyers in Double-Digit Kills

DAVIDSON, N.C. - With 14 kills and an .812 hitting percentage, senior Amber Erhahon led the University of Dayton volleyball team to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-11, 26-24) win at Davidson Friday night. The win extends the Flyers' winning streak to 10 matches.

Dayton improves to 18-6 on the season and is undefeated in Atlantic 10 conference action (9-0) while Davidson moves to 9-14 for the year and 2-8 in league play.

KEY MOMENT
During a back-and-forth third set that saw 14 ties, Dayton got to match point at 24-23 on a kill from sophomore Mackenzie Weaver. Davidson was not going down without a fight and evened the score at 24-all. Consecutive Flyer kills from Erhahon and redshirt freshman Brooke Westbeld gave UD the 26-24 set win and the 3-0 victory for the match.

KEY STATS
  • Erhahon tallied 14 kills to one error in 16 attempts for an .812 hitting percentage, the third time this season she has hit above .800
  • Weaver and junior Lauren Bruns each added 12 kills and Weaver got under eight digs as well
  • Junior Kendyll Brown was the fourth Flyer in double-digit kills (11) and junior Margo Wolf passed a match-high 23 digs
  • Freshman Bridget Doherty was one off a double-double with 23 assists and nine digs while senior Jane Emmenecker set 17 assists to go with six digs and two service aces
  • As a team, Dayton out-hit Davidson .345 to .189 and the Flyers tallied 56 kills to the Wildcats' 31
  • Davidson was led by Katharine Franz with nine kills and Elise Edman with 11 digs

UP NEXT
Dayton will travel over to Richmond, Virginia, on its way to take on VCU Sunday in the battle of the unbeatens. The Flyers and Rams will get underway at 1 p.m. at VCU's Siegel Center in order to determine who will hold out-right first place in league standings.
