DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team will kick-off a three-match road swing Friday at Fordham. First serve between the Rams and Flyers is set for 7 p.m. at Fordham's Rose hill Gym.

About Dayton
Dayton (11-6, 3-0 A-10) has opened Atlantic 10 Conference play with three-straight wins including its straight-set win over visiting La Salle on Sunday. The Flyers are led by current A-10 co-Defensive Player of the Week junior Margo Wolf with 4.62 digs/set (3rd A-10) and junior Lauren Bruns with 3.64 kills/set (1st A-10). Senior Amber Erhahon carries a .437 hitting percentage (8th NCAA) to go with a team-best 1.10 blocks/set (4th A-10). As a team, Dayton ranks first in the A-10 with a .231 hitting percentage, 12.21 assists/set and 13.43 kills/set.

Scouting Fordham
Fordham (10-7, 2-2 A-10) is coming off back-to-back A-10 home wins over George Mason and George Washington last weekend to even its league to mark to 2-2. The Rams' McKenna Lahr is the A-10's reigning Rookie of the Week and she averages a stellar all-around game of 2.63 kills/set, 0.63 aces/set (3rd A-10) and 2.12 digs/set. Fordham is led by Olivia Fairchild with 3.51 kills/set (3rd A-10) and 0.66 aces/set (2nd A-10).

Series Stuff
Dayton and Fordham have squared off a total of 36 times in a series that dates back to Sept. 1999. The Rams have only won one match as the Flyers hold a 35-1 advantage. The two last met Oct. 8, 2016 in Rose Hill Gym as Dayton squared away a 3-0 win over Fordham, the Flyers' fourth-consecutive straight-set win over the Rams.

RPI Rankings
In the first release of the NCAA Rating Percentage Index (RPI) of 2017 posted Monday, Oct. 1, Dayton came in at 88 according to NCAA.com. Fordham was ranked 248.

• Tim Horsmon is in his ninth season overall, and fourth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2017. His record at Dayton is 226-63 and his career win-loss mark sits at 402-227 in 19 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• UD has won 41 consecutive regular-season Atlantic 10 Conference matches, a streak that dates back to a 3-2 loss at George Washington on Oct. 11, 2014 (the team's only conference loss that season).

Dayton posted back-to-back home wins last week as it shutout La Salle, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon. Senior Jessica Sloan and junior Lauren Bruns each tallied a match-hihg-tying 11 kills for the Flyers while junior Margo Wolf got under a match-high 17 digs. As a team, Dayton out-hit La Salle .340 to .186, including a team hitting percentage of .444 in the third set.
