PITTSBURGH - The University of Dayton volleyball team has advanced to the program's fourth-consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship finals match with its 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-17) win over George Washington in the tournament semifinals. Dayton hit a blistering .434 for the match with only seven attack errors.
With the win, Dayton improves to 23-7 on the season. George Washington ends 2017 with an 11-21 overall mark.
KEY STATS
- Senior Jessica Sloan and junior Lauren Bruns each tallied 10 kills to lead all attackers. Sloan got under six digs and served up four aces while Bruns tallied four blocks
- Sophomore Mackenzie Weaver posted an all-around match with nine kills, five digs and four blocks while junior Margo Wolf passed a match-high-tying eight digs
- Senior Jane Emmenecker set a match-high 24 assists
- For the match, Dayton out-hit George Washington, .434 to .056, and the Flyers recorded 40 kills to the Colonials' 28
- George Washington was led by Kelsey Clark with six kills and Sydney Welch with eight digs
