DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team powered its way to a 81-43 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday at UD Arena.

The Flyers (5-1) get back on the winning side of things and remain undefeated at home while the Golden Lions (2-2) move to .500 on the season.

Second quarter – The Flyers outscored the Lions 15-7 in the second quarter and pulled ahead by double figures, never looking back.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 21, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 14
- Just five seconds into the game and sophomore Jayla Scaife gave UD the initial lead with a three from deep.
- The next three minutes saw neither team score as the defenses settled in.
- UAPB took a 4-3 lead at the 6:22 mark during an 0-for-6 Dayton drought.
- Senior Jenna Burdette gave the Flyers a 7-6 lead going into the media timeout. She hit a big three coming out of the break to put UD up four.
- The Flyers led by as much as nine at 21-12.
- Scaife, Burdette, and junior Lauren Cannatelli each had five points to lead UD.

2nd Quarter: Dayton 36, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 21
- Scaife was the first to score for the Flyers in the second quarter with a layup at the 9:04 mark.
- The Flyers extended their lead to 13 at 32-19 with 5:48 to go in the quarter on the jumper by junior Ashleigh Parkinson.
- UAPB only had one made field goal in the first half of the second quarter.
- The Flyers used a 13-1 run over a 5:44 span to pull ahead 36-19.
- Dayton shot 40 percent in the second quarter and held UAPB to 7%, going 1-of-14.
- The Flyers had 14 points off turnovers in the first 20 minutes.
- Cannatelli led UD with 10 points.

3rd Quarter: Dayton 57, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 33
- Dayton started off the second half with an 8-0 run.
- By the media timeout, the Flyers held a 48-23 lead.
- Burdette was the second Flyer to reach double-figures scoring with her 10th point. She was followed quickly by fellow senior JaVonna Layfield.
- The Flyers went 7-for-11 over the first eight minutes of the third before hitting a 2:11 cold spell. Â
- UD shot 61.5 percent in the third.

4th Quarter: Dayton 81, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 43
- UAPB got off to the stronger start to the final quarter with a 7-1 run over the first 3:01.
- The Flyers started off cold offensively, going 1-of-4 over the first 4:36.
- Dayton responded though and went on a 10-0 run over 1:52, pushing their lead to 28.
- The Lions went on a 0-for-7 drought over 3:01, leading into the media break.
- UD continued to pull away and ran the streak to 15-0 over 4:48.

- The Flyers shot 45.9 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range.
- UAPB was held to 23.6 percent shooting and 13.3 percent from behind the arc.
- Layfield had a game-high 19 points, recorded four steals, and grabbed nine rebounds.
