DAVIDSON, N.C. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team won its ninth in a row and 12
th of the last 13 games on a record setting night in North Carolina.
The Flyers (15-7, 9-1 A-10) solidified their hold on first place in the Atlantic 10 standings while the Wildcats (3-19, 1-9 A-10) suffered their fourth straight loss.
KEY MOMENT
With just 26 seconds left in the game, senior
Saicha Grant-Allen grabbed an offensive rebound and got the put back. With that board, she became the all-time career leader in offensive rebounds with 264.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter – Dayton 11, Davidson 12
- The Flyers got off to a slow start with the Wildcats jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the first two minutes.
- Dayton responded with four straight points to make it a one-point deficit halfway through the first.
- UD took its first lead of the game, 8-6, at the four minute mark.
- Sophomore Lauren Cannatelli led Dayton with three points.
- Between the two teams, there was just one made three pointer in the first quarter.
2nd Quarter – Dayton 32, Davidson 27
- Cannatelli opened the second quarter with two more threes to put Dayton back on top, 17-12.
- After hitting just one three in the first, the Flyers hit four in the first 3:30 of the second. All of their second quarter points had come from behind the arc up to that point.
- By the 2:30 mark in the quarter, Dayton led 30-21 with Cannatelli providing eight of 10 points during a stretch for the Flyers.
- UD held off Davidson late in the second and went into the break up five.
- Cannatelli went 5-for-5 from three point range in the first half and led the Flyers with 17 points.
- Redshirt senior Kelley Austria dished out five assists while redshirt junior Alex Harris grabbed six boards.
3rd Quarter – Dayton 47, Davidson 40
- The Flyers carried their momentum over into the second half and extended their lead to 10 at 37-27 over the first four minutes.
- Davidson's first points in the third came at the 5:40 mark.
- By the media timeout, Dayton led by seven points.
- Over the next two minutes, the Flyers went on another run and pushed the gap to 13, 47-34.
- Cannatelli finished the quarter with 22 points in the game including six threes.
4th Quarter – Dayton 68, 52
- From the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth, Dayton was held scoreless over a 4:30 stretch. Also during that span, Davidson got five straight points from the free throw line.
- Midway through the final period, Dayton led 55-46 thanks to a pair of clutch free throws by senior Saicha Grant-Allen.
- Both teams reached the bonus early on in the fourth and the free throw line dictated the pace for the next few minutes.
- The Flyers held on and even added to its lead down the stretch, clinching the 16-point victory.

7  – Cannatelli hit seven threes in the game, tying a single game high set last year by teammate
Christy Macioce. She went 5-for-5 from three-point range in the first half for 17 points, which already passed her season high.

th career offensive rebound, Grant-Allen set a new school record for career offensive rebounds, passing Cyndi Stull from 2004. She leads the A-10 in offensive rebounds with 4.1 per game this season.
