MACON, Ga. - The University of Dayton softball team was shutout Saturday evening, 4-0, by Mercer in the Flyers' fourth game of the Mercer Invitational.
Dayton moves to 2-2 on the season while Mercer also pulls even at 2-2.

3-for-3 – senior Gabrielle Snyder was a perfect 3-for-3 on the evening as the only Flyer with multiple hits. Snyder also tossed four innings in the circle, recording two strikeouts while giving up two runs
Mercer 4, Dayton 0
Mercer struck first, plating a run in the first, and took a 2-0 lead after a solo home run in the fourth. Snyder was able to get into scoring position for the Flyers in the sixth following a sacrifice hit and a ground out but UD could not convert. The Bears tacked on two more in the sixth on a two-run long ball over the center field fence. Dayton was retired, one-two-three in the seventh as Mercer claimed the shutout win.
