MACON, Ga. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped a 5-2 decision to Murray State Saturday at Mercer's Sikes Field, in the Flyers' first of two games on the day.

Dayton falls to 2-1 on the season while Murray State is off to a program-best start of 3-0.

Murray State 5, Dayton 2
Murray State opened the game with a single run on a RBI double in the top of the first and the Racers got two more in the third with a two-run homer over the center field fence. MSU was able to tack on two more in the four following two UD errors. Junior Jaclyn Kweder led off the bottom of the fifth with a double and was brought home by on a RBI single by senior Hannah DeSalvo. The Flyers' second run of the frame came across on a single byHaberstich as DeSalvo scored. Despite threatening with two on in the bottom of the seventh, that would be all the offense for the day as Dayton fell to Murray State, 5-2.
